Sex after a braziallan wax
My boyfriend went on vacation and I want to suprise him when he gets home with a braziallan wax. What can I expect, how painful is it, and how long before you are ready for sex again?
Any help would be great. Thank ladies

Oh, good question!! I did one earlier this week in anticipation of a night with my new man this weekend. I've been putting a cream called 'Dermaid' on the area, 'cos my skin is very sensitive anyway. And the reason I did the wax a good 5 days before sex was to avoid discomfort through sweat, etc. But I'd be interested in some more knowledgeable opinions!

I had sex the next night after my wax and it was fine, no pain or discomfort. I saw hair starting to grow back a little less than four weeks after the waxing session and I was a bit disappointed by that considering I paid $65 for my wax and was assured it would last at least six weeks. I highly recommend that you exfoliate and apply liberal amounts of moisturizing cream to prevent ingrown hairs because those can be a real bitch and that can lead to some discomfort as well as intense itching. Hope that helps!

Witch hazel works really well when it comes to preventing ingrown hairs--via waxing or shaving. It also helps with the itching and inflammation that are also possible. I think I need a Brazilian...

this is one of the best explanations of a brazilian I have seen:
http://www.femail.com.au/brazilianwax.htm (and, depending on your painthreshhold, it's true) A brazilian leaves you will a "landing strip" on the front of your vagina.. .a very small landing strip -- everywhere else is hair free. Full Brazilian, takes EVERYTHING off... A regular bikini wax keeps that area tidy - -it strips off the hair that might peak out when you were wearing a skimpy bikini. For five minutes of pain, it lasts a lot longer than shaving.

When I had just a regular bikini wax done, all of the hair was trimmed (think men's electric shaver) and the crease where my thighs met my genitals was waxed. For a few dollars more they would wax the top where my pubic hair started into a straight line. A brazilian is where every bit of hair (and I mean all of it!) is removed except for a landing strip. If you seen a few porno's you know what I mean. The big difference for people is that they will also wax your perineum (which is where most people feel pain) and your butt. And though we don't like to admit it, yes ladies, there is hair there. The landing strip can be done in anyway you like, I personally prefer to have a little triangle rather than a rectangular strip of hair, but that is purely a preference. I just tell them what shape I want and it doesn't cost any extra. If you are going in for a brazilian, I recommend that you take a men's electric razor and trim the hair yourself first, but not shorter than an 1/8 of an inch. If you don't, they will do it there for you and that cost a lot extra. If you trim it shorter than an 1/8 of an inch, the wax will not have a good base and most good salons will not even attempt the wax. If they do, the results will be sub-par at best. Be careful when you are trimming and always use a hand-mirror. Some trimmers can "bite" and if they actually cut the skin, you do not want hot wax on that. Hope that helps! |

Honestly, the only really painful part is the tweezing.. that's enough to bring tears to the eyes... Pluck one hair out with a pair of tweezers, now multiply that by 250 times - if the waxer is good, she'll be done in minutes.. If she's not good- -sedation is a good thing.

I think there was another thread on brazilian waxes I wrote in before...
brazilian wax hurts quite a lot more than regular, because there's more hair to yank off and in more sensitive areas. But as soon as it's done I'd say you're ready for sex! Unless your skin is particularly sensitive of course. It feels great when it's been done, sexier and cleaner. Just take my advice, don't shave the top inner tip of your mons...that is THE MOST PAINFUL THING TO WAX EVER! First time I had it I was asked do you want me to shave that bit and I said sure go ahead...boy did I regret it! Once you've had a brazilian wax it always feels untidy when you don't have it. Ingrown hairs I find only tend to appear on the usual places (sides of bikini line) and nowhere else. I was recommended exfoliation. I don' recommend applying creams to your lower areas because that can destabilize your natural balance down there. I also found using a gel product that delays regrowth is good too. Brazilian waxes rule! edit: funny little note...I found the only set back with a brazilian wax is that without the hair, your aim *ahem* when you pee is kind of gone...

I read about pubes (on a site with a permanent hair removal treatment) that black/brown hair is much harder to remove so maybe that's why it's grown back in so fast?

they always tell you it'll last that long...total smoothness on me lasts about a week and a half, then another week and a half till I can go and have it waxed again. 3 weeks here really. I have dark hair so maybe that's why.
