pills and such
i know there must be a million posts and topics started about birth control already, but i did a search, and couldn't find what i am looking for.

i've been on the pill before, and am actually going to the gyno today to be put back on (i think i have a mild allergy to latex).
what im curious to find out is if anyone else out there on the pill has had problems with drinking alcoholic beverages while being on the pill. i've been on ortho (both the pill and the patch), and while on it, i could consume not much more than a 1.5-2 beers without feeling absolutely stick to my stomach. does anyone know what would cause this? i've heard of orthro-low which has less estrogen (as they've found not everybody needs such high levels to control), think this might help? any feedback is much appreciated. |

Typically what causes upset stomach while on the Pill is the estrogen. You might try taking it in the morning with food. That could help. A good doctor will help you find the Pill that works for you--let them know your problems and help them find a solution. Good luck.

I have been having the opposite problem with the pill. For the past 2 months, I have had horrible cramps and backpain, but no period. I took 3 pregnancy tests and they all came out negative. Has anyone else had this problem? I know that the shots have this effect, but I have been on the pill for several years and have never had this problem. Any advice would be helpful.

Have you ever been tested for endometriosis or fibroids? When's the last time you went to the gyno... Really bad cramps and back pain are often attributed to both. But the no period is odd, it's possible to get a false negative on a pregnancy test, a doctor could give you a blood test to be certain.
Have their been any changes in your life recently, that are causing additional stress, that might be throwing off your cycle?

Well, I am a teacher so stress is an everyday occurence. I am also spending about 40 hours a week on my Master's degree so I am constantly under stress, but nothing new for me in the past year and a half. I should probably find a doctor up here because my mother got endometriosis when she was my age. I'll see what I can find out. Thank you!

sounds strange but if you drink a full glass of ether milk or soy milk with the pill the sick to your stomach feeling goes away and yea the low alcohol thing happens alot..thats why i'm switching to the nuva ring..that and the pills were actually making me want to kill myself..literally.
