my grandfather got me into bathroom reading. i'd go to visit and there was always a stack of playboys by the toilet. when i was little i just looked at the pictures, but as i got older i really did enjoy the articles!

i'm a reader by nature. i almost always have a book or a mag of some sort with me. i don't take a book into the bathroom if i'm visiting someone else (excluding family and sig. other) but i keep several stashed in mine. reader's digest and time are my current favorites.

I love Popular Science... And yes, I do read in the bathroom, it's too boring otherwise. But I don't keep stuff in there, I'm too scared the steam and moisture will damage it.
I usually read magazine in there, books are too long for the occasion.

hee hee, I've been desperate enough to read the bottles and tubes!! Now I put the new mail (like catalogues and local newspapers) in there to thumb through before I get to my paperwork. Taking a bath is by far the best way to catch up on reading though!!

I don't read in the bathroom atall, I don't think I've ever done that. Does reading scribbles off of public bathroom count? :-) I don't if this helps, but I often speak on the phone in the bathroom, I find it private. :-)

I don't spend enough time in the bath room to read anything. When I go I go fast. If I read for the amount of time it took me to get ready I would be able to read in there.
So weird how some ppl almost take an hour to go #2 and then theres ppl like me the same amount of time to go pee as to go #2 probably because I only go 2 a week.

my family really wasn't the "reading in the bathroom type", so as a kid i would read the backs of shampoo bottles, toothpaste tubes, and whatever else was within arms reach. i soon realized that i had memorized all the ingredients, so i started taking a newsweek or other various current event mags with me. i found that i could keep up on my politics and world events a lot better after that.

Growing up if you weren't going to the bathroom, eating or sick you were fair game for whatever chore my Mom (or Dad) happened to come up with at the moment. They were coming up with chores frequently and I don't mean the kind of "Come pick up your mess." kind of chore. I mean the "Go bring in some wood." or "Come dust the house." It was my retreat. Now I sit and read cause when the 4 yr old come I can say "Moma's going potty, go play until I'm done." Only place I get peace and quiet TO read.

Edit:typo

I do so read in the bathroom! Usually only when I'm already reading something and then have to go to the bathroom, then just take it in with me. No place to keep any reading material in our small bathroom.

Now that is a bathroom to die for! I spread my books all over the house, quite a few end up in the bathroom.

I actually gasped when I read that.

Anyone who takes one of my comic books into the bathroom with her is taking her life into her hands.

No one in this home reads in the bathroom. All three of us are business only ladies.

And we have wooden seats in all of our bathrooms. I find them more comfortable than the cushioned ones, which just don't feel right for some reason.

I am a definite reader. If their is no magazine or book around, then i turn to reading such things as shampoo and conditioner bottles. There is always something interesting written on those that you never knew....

I don't think I'm in there long enough to read... hmmm

I usually just end up thinking about something completely random and of no relevance to what I'm doing. I ponder life while I sit on the toilet. *shrug*

I do read while I take a bath though. Since I like being in the tub for a little while, it make sense to me to have something to do. Sometimes, though, those random thoughts get in the way while I am actually trying to read.

Bathroom breaks are like lunches.. just a function of life that I can't wait to be finished with so I can get back to whatever it was that I was doing.

Or is that somewhere between the five things I was doing...

I have four kids plus I babysit during the day plus our house is the neighborhood hang out. Its not unusual to have between 15 or 20 kids at our house at one time. The bathroom is the only room I can go in and lock the door for a few minutes. I read anything I can get my hands on at that time.

On the occasions that I do read in the bathroom, it is usually the many catalogs that I get in the mail.

Oh please, c'mon....lots of women read in there All the Time. - Most just don't want to discuss stuff they do in there. Our CFO takes her newspaper in there at work. I find that sort of humorous actually.

But guys that bug us when we are in there, should be shot (jk!)
