IUDs. Why not?
I'm curious to know why more women don't sign up for IUDs?
I hate hormonal BC and I was hoping to get this. Is there any reason I shouldn't? I want to hear from women who have. |
Personally I don't like the idea of having an object put into my body. It's a brilliant idea for sure but I'll stick to the pill until they come of with some sort of alternative :)

I've never had an IUD put in, but the risks are no joke. If the IDU becomes embedded in the wrong place, it can cause serious problems.

Yeah, my mother had an IUD (granted, they've probably made some advances since then), and it ended up puncturing her and making her bleed. Plus, it kept falling out.

I just recently had one put in. A little painful to have done I'll admit. First month or so was a little strange as far as periods are concerned. But I've not had a normal period for a very long time...can't take the pill. As the months pass...I'm learning to like it. Does take some getting used to. Definitely talk with your dr. They know you and your body better. Good luck.

I had one put in over a month ago. The only complaint I have is that I'm still bleeding. But I think I can attribute that to my being on the shot for three years and then all of sudden just not having it anymore. There's no reason I can think of not to get one. I have an appt in a couple of weeks to get it checked out.
