Girls... serious question here....
Does it bother you when someone calls you a bitch?
Does it bother you when someone calls you a cunt? Does it bother you when someone calls you a fucking cunt? What "name" really bothers you? Honestly, for me, none of it does. YES, I am a BITCH. And that's "Ms. Bitch" to most of you. If someone wants to call me a name, I really don't care. It means nothing to me. It's just a word. And by having to use profanity when referring to me, you've just proved to me why I choose not to associate with you in the first place. Name calling is so second grade. |
I'm not really bothered by any of those names either. I don't like the word cunt though, I don't know why but I just don't. As for bitch, well, I can be a bitch and I am okay with that.
|
Luckily, I can't say I've ever really been called any names of the negative sort, at least not to my face. If I were though, I would like to think that I could just shrug it off and realize that what they said wasn't important. There aren't really insults that come to mind that really bother me.
|
Unfortunately I seem to get called all of those names quite frequently and I have come to hate them all because of it. If someone says it in a joking manner, it would be ok, but when they really mean it is when it hurts.
|
I don't like the word cunt, I never have.
I'd probably get upset if someone called me that, but the only way I can think that someone would say such a thing would be road rage, and I just shake my head in bewilderment. Traffic is not life and death, and if it is, I wouldn't have chosen the expressway. A name that would really bother me? One that's not mine in the middle of sex *smirks* That's about the only thing you could call me that would make me homicidal. |
I'm with Xapphire, I hate the c-word and won't let anyone around me use it, let alone call me one.
|
I guess it would depend on who said it and the context in which it was used.
If it was someone I cared about and they were being mean, I would be upset. If it is said in a joking way then no, I don't care. Just don't name call me in a fight unless you want to taste some of your own medicine. |
Name calling seems a little immature to me, so I laugh when people over the age of 16 actually attempt it.
The only kind of name calling I really don't care for are the ethnic slurs. Those are stupid AND culturally insensitive. |
It totally depends on the context. My friend Des and I were discussing this last night. I totally don't mind if she calls me a bitch because I know she's joking around. But if someone says something like that and MEANS it...they'll see what a bitch I really am.

Sticks & stones....
I wouldn't mind being called a bitch ( my good buddy ALWAYS used to call me that in fun ) but I'm not a big fan of the "C" word. Don't know why...just one of those things! I could care less if anyone wanted to call me something bad - it just shows their lack of class in my eyes. Now, if it were my man trying to be hurtful that would be a different story but other than that I can't be concerned with the opinions/stupid attitudes of others! |
Hmmm...I guess if someone looked at me and seriously wanted to hurt me by calling me any name...I would probably go off.
None of those words offend me in general, in fact I have quite a nasty vocabulary. But, if you throw fightin' words, you better be prepared! I have a nasty "red-head" temper. heehee |
I've been called a number of things..usually behind my back because most people wouldn't have the guts to say it to my face.. some of the vulgar names do anger me...but it just proves how morally inept and ignorant they are.
The only time it would hurt me was if it was alpha phi being the vulgar verbal slinger. I grew up with my dad constantly belittleing me. It was hard and I had to try to be tuff Since I heard so much name calling growing up , I made a rule for myself that I still follow. I will not call someone a vulgar name to their face. It's wrong and I feel very strongly about it. When I hear people do it , it makes me cringe...don't get me wrong if it's in jest and fun...fine I'll enjoy it and maybe join in...but if it's serious , I might tell you that you can say you don't like someone without the cuss words. |
heh, i use the word cunt, which lots of my friends look at me funny or wanna smack me for ... i don't care if someone calls me any of those, it's the context that matters.
|
hm...bitch is perfectly fine, whether positive or negative..
but the 'c-word'...imo is rather offensive and severe and so i avoid using, and if someone referred to me as such, i spose i'd consider the context etc. |
It depends on the situation. My friends and my sisters and I will call each other a bitch when we are just joking around.
Other than that, nobody says those things about me to my face. I feel that is their issue if they need to express themselves that way. However....calling me the "C" word will get a very unpleasant response from me. Zero tolerance there. |
Two words... "vagina monologues" Read it, see it, be in the play if you can. Anyway I call my friends "hooka's bitchs and cunts" for fun when it is just us gals, and I hear the word bitch occasionally when I am acting like one. However, the C-word as an insult is not something I tolerate lightly. The only man who can say it to me and not get a kick in the croch is my bf and ONLY when we are being naughty in the bedroom ;) but then again i'm saying some dirty stuff to him too. Other then that he knows not to use it not that he ever would anyway.
|
The Vagina Monologues was awesome! I caught it in Scottsdale a while back. I am hoping to catch it sometime again soon.
The names don't bother me... but I can't say there are many instances where someone is calling me a bitch. so it doesn't bother me. As for the c-word... eh, I don't hear it often at all either. I suppose I live a subdued politically correct lifestyle.. (help me... ) :) |
the only names that REALLY bother me even when said in a joking context are the violent ones. Like gash or slit. just sounds so icky. anything else would depent totally on context
|
I dont get those names a lot... but it depends on whos doing the namecalling. If my boyfreind or any of my closest freinds said something horrible to me I would be quite upset. I guess I'm the vulnerable type!:)
|
You mean to tell me that when I'm called bitch its not a compliment? ;)
I couldn't care less what people call me. But, I'm with alot of you when it comes to the C word ... I just don't like it in any context. It just sounds nasty. hehe |
Ok, my fiancee is from Belfast. Cunt is a perfectly acceptable term for him (and many of his friends) for "mate" or the like- it's a joking term. If many of you knew that the term cunt stems from "coint" in old english- it's a compliment- it comes from the woman's birth rights- like being a noble or a lady. "From thy coint" is used in Shakespeare and other poets/writers from the time - no different that cunt now- only we use it for a negative thing as opposed to the feminine decendent term it once was used for.
|
Oh, and no. It never bothers me to be called a name. If someone has to resort to name calling as a defense mechanism against me antagonizing them, I've already won ;)
