I have shaved and trimmed from time to time, but since I have so little to start with, it's just not worth the trouble. Like some other posters, I too am creeped out by the little girl look, and also by the guys that like it. I'm already small. I don't want to try and look like a ten-year-old.
Like abaya, I love men's hairy chests and even backs (some guys.) But I absolutely hate the "two day growth" beard that some find so attractive. To me it feels like coarse sandpaper. Especially when receiving oral. I hate that.

mmmmm, soft red pubes.....sounds pretty. Mine is soft, too, and light brown....and straight! I can comb it, lol.

I agree with you to some extent on the two day growth look. I don't prefer the way it looks. It doesn't bother me too much during sex, but in my opinion, a man should either shave completely or have a beard. Otherwise it is just too affected.

Also, I just wanted to note, that because I spend a lot of time looking for good nude photography on the internet (I am an amateur photographer and would like to do nudes one day), that I love that little surprise I get when I open up a thumbnail and it's a woman with a full, hairy woman's pussy. You see so little of that in photography of women these days, and it has become almost an erotic novelty. I just prefer the way it looks, though. It's sexy....

Even when I didn't shave I HAD to trim down there. I literally had to comb it out and give myself a haircut - ew gross. I may have fine, straight blonde hair on my head but down there I have an afro. It's thick, corse and black down below and I hate it. Especially during my period (I can't use tampons all the time.) and it's nasty. I know that's probably more information than anyone wanted to know but it's the biggest reason that I shave.

I started shaving about 8 years ago. To begin with I only shaved off and on and I quit shaving while I was pregnant. No big messes to clean up down there then. I still trimmed then though. Then about a year after my daughter was born I started shaving again. There are times I'll let it go but I never let it get beyond 1/4" or so long. The last time I let it go beyond that I realized how much more itchy I was when it was longer. It dawned on me how much I itched before. Probably because it was so corse and curly.

Hubby shaves too. I like body hair, especially love his chest 'fur' since it's not real thick but feels nice. When he started shaving down below though I really enjoyed the sensation it gave. When we're both shaved clean and have sex the sensations are highened and it feels better.

I've found that Caress body wash works better than shaving cream down there. Some shaving cream sortof burns.
I tried waxing - NO WAY.
I tried Nair - It's messy, not completely effective, irritates, and the time spent isn't worth it.

I do that every once in a while....give myself a trim.

I just started using depilatory cream for the bikini area about four months ago, not sure which brand I have, but I get really good results from it. I used to shave there but had to stop when I developed folliculitis from it (anyone developed that charming little affliction?).

Someone previously mentioned BikiniZone for irritation from hair removal, and that little tube of goo is definitely worth the money. It works great.

Will have to look for that. Might be better than the greasy antibiotic ointment. My Dr told me that her dermatologist recommended antibiotic ointment for razor burn and to prevent folliculitis. She said to apply it wherever I shaved just after I shaved. It does help a lot.

I tried to trim a heart shape once. But it itched like hell, and I didn't have much to work with. I never shave now. there's just not enough to worry about.

My public hair is thin, fine, and soft, and straight. I can't shave it into shapes, there's not enough of it to look like anything, it ends up looking strange.
I keep it trimmed.
I shave it on occasion, but not all the time, I have sensitive skin, and the itch and irritation isn't worth the hassle.

I started shaving b/c my ex suggested it (it sounded a bit weird to me at the time! lol). Now, I shave every couple of days. I like the bare feeling, although the regrowth ain't so great. My current bf shaves also. I love that feeling when we're both shaved....mmmmmmmm!

Thanks for the advice girls, if this thread has been created before I am sorry to repeat it. I went to get waxed the other day... I was too afraid to get the Brazillian so I just went with the normal bikini wax. I figured I would start with that... maybe one day I will try it. But for now I'm gonna stick with that.

There's something about having a brazillian and having sex that make it so... oh... well it's like the difference between taking a tarp and running water on it and a real brand name slip-n-slide. If you like juicy sex, brazillian is the way to go. Plus, it's a huge bonus to your man if he's going down on you- it makes everything really fresh and easy to lick and pleasant to have his face next to. The only thing about a brazillian that I have found to be a little annoying is all your natural vagina juice doesn't get soaked into your pubic hair anymore, so you're a little more moist throughout the day- easily solved by either wiping more thoroughly when you go to the bathroom or wearing cotton undies.

It will be easier to find all the information about this by merging the other Brazlian thread into this one - pubic hair isn't something that just popped up in the last few weeks

Yeah, I have thick hair down there too, which probably explains why I've had that dreaded feminine itch!

Usually I go natural, because I just don't have the want or need to clean up down there. But before putting on a swimsuit I usually shave. I've waxed my bikini line area once before with an at-home waxing kit, and I loved the results! Shaving made me itchy and irritated, but waxing didn't. And the results lasted way longer.

Anyone ever have pubic hair dyed? I heard there are special pubic hair artists who shape the hair into something and then dye it accordingly. For instance, I think the strawberry look is the most popular choice. I want to try that some day, but heard it's expenive.

I can honestly be anywhere from totally natural to shaved. I strongly prefer shaved, but razors are expensive and I am lazy.

I never shaved down there, I used depilatory creams around the edges when I was younger. I have been getting a Brazilian wax, or sometimes a Playboy for the last 14 years. And I LOVE IT!!!!!! besides the benefit of good sex, I also now have almost no hair. Another plus is it takes longer to grow back. BUT you MUST have a good waxer!!!!!

I totally agree with you about the lack of “absorbency” without the hair being around.

I love how the playboy girls look with the little landing strip down the middle so much that I had to copy them!!! Now I keep it that way all the time but some times when I'm bored I try to make shapes or sometimes I even shave it all off.
When I let it grow out because I am to lazy to shave it, it does get itchy but when it is shaved it looks hella sexy to me.

I have another reason why I shave it, because my husband love's to eat at my buffet and I would not want hair getting in his food now do I??

I never shaved until my dad pointed out to me one day on a family camping trip(I was 15) that something was hanging out of my swim suit and He said that girls cut that so it does not show in a swim suit. (I lived with my dad my whole life my mom was not in the picture)

I guess I have kind of a skewed view on all this.
I started swim team at age 7, so I was in a bathing for 10 years of my life until I stopped the summer following my senior year before college.
I grew up having to trim my hair down there just because of my sport. Never thought anything of it until I got to middle school/high school when I realized other girls didn't shave or anything.
After middle school the hair started going beyond the damn bikini zone so had to wax it for swim team.
Waxing overall doesn't hurt me. The first time it was a complete shock, but now I don't mind too much. Have to wax every summer because I'm a lifeguard but it doesn't bother me in the least.
I was excited about not having to tend to my lawn for the first time in my life when i went to college because swimming and lifeguarding were over then I met a fellow who likes it waxed..so once again I wax.
Does anyone else wax?
I honestly don't mind it, it almost feels good being like "Ha, get off me!" when you rip the hairs out.

I either wax or shave completely. I just prefer it that way myself, it feels smoother and I think it's more attractive, I also feel more comfortable naked that way

i was forced to shave when hair 1st appeared on my body, i was around 10 since its apart of our religion, i did do for a couple of years, up until i was 12, since then i haven't touched a hair, i prefer the natural fell. Plus i dont think that i will force my kids to shave and let them be natural too

I use one of those little "neck hair" trimmers that are all of $10 at Walgreens. I can't shave completely because I'm extremely prone to ingrown hairs and there is nooooo way I'd deal with the massive infected follicles I get down there. Actually, I found that the more often I trimmed, the more yeast infections I got, too. Weird. So now I just take the guard off the little electric razor and trim to about 1-2cm in length. And shave the edges completely.

Side note... after I shave and shower, Gold Bond baby powder rocks to keep newly shorn skin from chafing right away.

I use Nair. I know it isn't supposed to work, but it will. I trim myself down pretty good first then I apply the nair with a cotton ball, I have to let it sit for 10 minutes instead of the 4 they say, but it does work and I never get ingrowns that way.

I will not participate in any activity that is likely to get hair in my mouth and I don't expect darling to either. Since I enjoy oral SO much, I am more than willing to put up with the minor annoyances.
