menstruation cycles

i was just wondering if any of you have ever figured out your menstruation cycle in relation to the moon, and if so.. can you predict to the DAY when it starts?

i sometimes mark down when i start with a red marker on my calendar. but i'm lazy and don't do it regularly. i also don't have a moon calendar, just a regular one. but just from looking outside and checking the last time i had marked my calendar, i've discovered its prooobably around new moon that i start. whereas this month, it was the day of the full moon -exactly- that i started getting moody and depressed. interesting.. i wonder if the moon aligns to my moods as well. it seemed like a lot of females i know were down during the same time i was. like this whole collective woman consciousness or something :D

lol, if women live together long enough, the hormones will "syncronise" them. me, my sis, and my mom are all w/in a 2 week period. hell on earth.

I start in, oooh... ::consults pill package:: 4 or 5 days. dunno where that lands, moon-wise, though, too lazy to look ;)

i have never checked with my schedule with the moon, but the last few months i start on the exact same day, no pills or anything

it kind of freaked me out at first

That sounds like a lot of work! I prefer to use cheerios method - consult the pill pack! But, some people think their moods are guided by the moon. I think most people have experienced the strange moods and craziness of people on a full moon day. There may be some truth to it...

heh i just noticed that a few weeks ago when i was in one of my moods, it was the full moon exactly. now its back again and on the day of the new moon [yesterday]. weird

My husband actually knows my cycle better than I do. I'm not on the pill and I'm not all that regular (28 - 34 days or so). However, somehow he knows a few days ahead of time when I'm going to start.

The first time I knew about it was after we'd been married for a year or two. He postponed a "night out" a few days ahead of time. We were going to go out to dinner on a Friday. The Tuesday before, he said we should wait until after the weekend.

I asked why and he looked at me funny. After a moment he said, "So it'll be after 'that time of the month'." I got annoyed and told him that I didn't know exactly when it would be so we might as well keep the reservation just in case I was late.

He got that *damn* "knowing smile" and said, "I'll make a reservation for next Wednesday". Sure enough, I started on Thursday and it was over on Sunday. By Wednesday, I was the proverbial putty in his hands. I wanted to be pissed at him but it didn't matter. I loved the evening and "got it good" that night.

He won't tell me how he knows. I don't think he even knows how he knows, but he's pretty good at it. Sometimes it's annoying being so predictable but most of the time it's nice knowing that he's scheduling around me.

I don't even notice it most of the time but sometimes I'll realize that he has something fun scheduled on "day 14" or that he's more attentive a day or two before my period.

haha very perceptive husband you've got there :)
and that "knowing smile" seems cute!

2 words. Depro Provera. I haven't had a period in many moons.

LittleOralAnnie 08-02-2003 07:21 AM

I don't guide anything in my life by the moon and I don't normally keep track of my periods. My body does enough to tell me when it's time ahead of time to keep me prepared ;)

SparklingDot 08-03-2003 09:32 PM

I only wish I knew when I'd start. I can't quite time it, but i know I get really cranky, cravings for sweets, and tired anywhere from 3 days to two weeks before i start. OOh and those evil "menstrual migranes." i'm all screwy, so trying to keep track doesn't make any sense to me.

I've been lucky enough to have mine start the same day of every month! alwayz on the 29th, ever since 7th grade! the only problem is that it has been falling on my birthday (29th) ever since then!

I got curious and started watching my little LunaBar in the taskbar.. Sho' nuff...a week before the full moon..I can't be bothered to get it down to the day ;)

Depro Provera? Explain.....My hubby and I are going on vacation and I don't wanna be on the rag at that point but according to my calculations, i will be (oh no).
I have my period one week and count 3 weeks in between and then on the next week, I am guaranteed to start. But to the exact day, no.
