Facial Hair
There is one male that works in my organization. He's a part time contractor so I don't really see him too often. He's funny and attractive, but I never really thought anything of him.
One day he came in with a beard and has had it for a month now. I find him to be VERY attractive with the beard. I obviously won't be going after a married man or a co-worker, but I thought it was funny how all of the sudden I think he is soooooo hot now with the facial hair. I have always been attracted to the rugged man. Maybe because my father always had some sort of facial hair and that's what I am accustomed to. So ladies who are interested in men, do you like facial hair or do you like a clean shaven man? Why or why not? |

Facial hair, all the way--though some guys have weak facial hair, and then it looks terrible. I prefer a good, full beard or a nice goatee. And of course Tom Selleck's mustache.
My SO has a very nice beard. I'm a big fan of his beard. He shaved it off last spring but we both decided he needed to grow it back ASAP. There is a lot of fun to be had with facial hair, after all.

It depends on the guy, really. Some look better clean-shaven, and some look better with a beard/goatee/whatever.
I'm all about the scruff, though. Rawr. Hotness.

In general I am rather opposed to facial hair. My dad is a ridiculously hairy man (descendant of Sasquatch comes to mind) and thus it was a bit much.
Granted some men do look better with it. smrt can't grow anything other that patches so he looks better with out.

This is something I've been contemplating recently, so I'm glad there's a thread.
I fall head-over-heels for men with full beards. The rugged-but-trimmed sort. Yum. When paired with chacos, cargo shorts, and a geeky-hippie personality - double yum yum. I LOVE full gotees (mustache + chin). Delicious lovely things that tickle me in kisses. Used to think I hated mustaches, but I'm starting to fall for them. My husband currently attempts to look clean-shaven at all times. It's a difficult task for him. I love how incredibly soft his cheeks are after a shave. I love kissing him all over his face and neck, and I love the smell of his aftershave. He has also rocked a full beard and various permutations on gotee. I've realized what it comes down to is this: I love a man who can grow a nice full beard. Perhaps they release higher pharemone levels. I respect even more a man who trims and/or shaves regularly. I definitely do NOT like neck beards. I don't see how anyone who looks like this could possibly get laid.

He offered to shave for our wedding this summer but I think I'm just going to have him go to the barber and get the beard trimmed. I prefer him with it--it just suits his style.

I'm usually not a giant fan of facial hair. My current SO has a goatee and it looks quite good on him (he wears it because "no one wants a young vet"), although he also looks good clean-shaven (Halloween costume required it). I don't generally like full beards, at all, and neck beards are even worse. *shudder*
He's been considering a full beard for a while, and I guess I could put up with it long enough to see what it would look like.. but I absolutely love kissing his cheeks and neck after he's shaved the stubble from the past couple days.

Good thread. I agree about the yucky neck beards, and i don't care for the "soup strainer" long mustaches either. I don't want to kiss a guy and taste his leftover lunch. I'm happy with either a real beard, or clean shaven. But I absolutely HATE that two day growth look that feels like 80 grit sandpaper.

I don't mind how it looks, it suits a lot of people, and is often quite attractive, but the rampaging eczema means I'll only ever real date a clean shaven guy...
However, DEATH TO THE NECK BEARD. And the two day growth, now you mention it. |

My man is currently growing his facial hair out a bit for the winter. He is trying to find some mustache wax so he can keep the hair growing sideways rather than down where it tickles his lips (and mine when he kisses me).

mmm... My boyfriend is growing a beard for the very first time, and he looks really hot with it. I mean, he's adorable either way, but I love the beard. Most of the guys I've been with have had at least some sort of facial hair. I guess that's just the way I like 'em.
Oh, and my poor little brother could only grow a neck beard. If he gets scruffy, he says he needs to take off his scarf. ick.

My SO has that whole Zac Brown look going on, short, trimmed, taken care of, not to long just enough i can run may hands through. He is normally bald and clean shaved except for a trimmed mustache which i find sexy as well but this look he has now is *drool* i just love it. I know it will soon be gone because of the weather but right now i just cant get enough of it
