Guy crush.
There seems to be such an enthusiastic response to the Girl crush, I just wondered if anyone would like to share their Guy crushes.
For me it's David Gilmore. Young or old, I don't care. He's hot! Gregory Peck...sigh! and Lenny Kravitz...Hot Damn!! He just oozes sex...yum! Last edited by seamaiden; 10-21-2009 at 12:55 PM.. |

And the award for Longest Running Celebrity Crush goes to Cinn, for her nearly lifelong devotion to one Mr. John Cusack:
(I saw him in The Journey of Natty Gann when I was a kid, and never got over him.) I also drooled over Anderson Cooper back in the day on Channel 1. I don't really watch CNN, so I don't get to see him much anymore. But I have to say, the silver suits him quite nicely. More recently, I've been crushing on Bradley Cooper. I even liked him in Midnight Meat Train, which was a pretty terrible movie. And my geekdom is totally showing on this one, but Wil Wheaton? Yes, please. Rawr.

My guy crushes, much like my girl crushes are based more on characteristics and talents than looks...for the most part. Although I think all these men are beautiful in their own way...just not perhaps classically beautiful. But all of these men, on top of said admirable characteristics and talents, have made me, shall I say, weak in the knickers from time to time...
Colin Firth...well, swoon. Paul Giamatti...has chosen his roles well and is in some of my favorite movies of the last ten years...plus he's adorable. Jeff Bridges...I will always love him for Lebowski. Always. Dexter Gordon...had a mad crush on him about 20 years ago. Lou Reed...Velvet Underground followed by 30+ years of quietly making one great album after another. Plus he married Laurie Anderson, pfft. Yum. Leonard Cohen...when he sings 'give me crack and anal sex, take the only tree that's left and stuff it up the hole in your culture'...well, come on, how hot is that Don Cheadle...just look at him. My image of him will always be tied to his role in Boogie Nights, though. I loved him so much in that movie. James Mercer...wrote several of my favorite songs from the last ten years. No small feat. Bob Dylan...sure, he's looked better, but he's a genius. A genius I'd like to fuck. (well, if I weren't already fucking someone else, heh) Bill Murray...grawr Gary Oldman...a legendary actor even if he did fall off the credibility truck quite a few years ago. Joseph Cotten...kind of a pivotal guy crush...one of my earliest that wasn't someone a) living and b) in any music magazines, lol. There are more, but that's all I can think of right now.

Leonard Cohen, who even in his seventies is charming.
Neil Gaiman, who is brilliant and funny and charming and oh so cute. Jason Schwartzman, who I fell in love with in I <3 Huckabees and Batman. Even boyfriend loves Batman.

So many beautiful men!
I know this is a visual thread, but I just wanted to add a verbal tribute to the gorgeous man I used to see every Saturday morning, (sadly I have no photo) at the farmers market in New Brunswick. I had the biggest crush on him for over two years...he was fantasy worthy, but I don't even know his name. He smiled at me once, made me so flushed I had a headache for the rest of the morning...now that's a crush! |

Loooove David Boreanaz!
My #1 favorite is Aragorn. Not Viggo Mortenson, because outside of the costume and all he looks kind of girlie or something. But as the character, all dirty and badass... yes, please! Next would be Hugh Jackman. Good looking, nice accent, and a talented singer! Total package. And the embarrassing, weird crush is on Gil Grissom from the original CSI. Way too old for me, but so smart and competent, not to mention pretty good looking. My husband makes fun of me for that one. Edited to add: I would post some nice pictures of my men, but I am a newbie around here and haven't yet earned that right! |

Jason Statham is rawr.
I was watching Gerard Butler on SNL recently and they had a bit where he was on Weekend Update talking in his native Scottish accent (hot), and it occurred to me that there are a lot of Scottish actors whose accents I love but rarely get to hear. Hence why I am delighted with David Tennant's Masterpiece Contemporary promos on public television. David Tennant: Gerard Butler: Patrick Stewart:

How could I have forgotten my eternal crush... Anthony Stewart Head
While he's not just a charming older man... his voice... If you dont find him visually appealing, or for that matter if you do, check this out... It's not the best song he's done by far, but its just a voice clip from Buffy the Vampire Slayer season 4 and this is one of the first songs I'd ever heard him sing which made me fall for him, so enjoy. |

I would have to say Orlando Bloom, but only as Legolas from Lord of the Rings (there's something about that blonde hair and the pointy ears)
For that matter I've just realised the guy from Glee looks a bit like Orlando - Matthew Morrison (he's a year younger than me ) Last but not least, Taylor Lautner from New Moon, when he took that shirt off I HAD to remind myself that I'm old enough to be his mother. I would say that this crush is purely physical..... (although he has a very sweet smile ) I would most definately agree with all those that said Colin Firth, he's a nice dishy older man I can't post pics because I don't have enough posts up my sleeve |
