Bath and Body
I may be the last to hop on this train, but oh well.
I haven't been in Bath and Body Works for a few years. I didn't like their scents anymore. Last week, I got a gift card from one of my students for teacher appreciation week or something. Anyway, I went thinking I would find something for JJ's daughter, A, if there was nothing for me. I was blown away when I went. Bath and Body Works is all grown up it seems. In the past 8 years, they have improved quite a bit. I am in love with their mint collection. It's actually CO Bigelow's collection, but they're carrying it. I got the shampoo and conditioner because it was 2/$10 which is a good deal because it's typically $12 a bottle (if they ever have things not on sale). I also picked up some minty bubble bath. I wandered over to their signature line and it's all new stuff. I grabbed the Moonlight Path spray and what I thought was the lotion, but turned out to be body wash and then since it was buy 2 get 1 free, I grabbed some Black Raspberry lotion for A. I think I might take the body wash back tomorrow and exchange it for the peppermint lime scrub. Of course, I kind of like the mint and moonlight path scents together. Maybe, I'll wait until their bigger sale and go back then. Either way, I have renewed my love for Bath and Body Works. Even if they are overpriced so they can have a bunch of "sales" making you feel like you're saving money. :) |
I agree with this. I avoided them for a long time because I just couldn't stand smelling the country apple scent any more but I too fell in love with the mint line. The mint lip gloss is so nice!
|
I recently have grown to love their True Blue Spa line. I decided about 2 weeks ago to treat myself, and I grabbed some of their Paraffin hand lotion, some foot lotion, some Aloe socks (they have aloe built right in) and some of their Suddenly Spa gloves.
I was amazed at how well everything worked. So I agree, Bath and Body Works is now my favorite place (well, besides any -real- spa) to pamper myself. =) |
I am yet another who set foot in their store after avoiding for several years.
I got one of their essential oil burners for my birthday last year, and only on this trip did I discover the oil I got with the burner (a Spiced Cider smell that was phenomenal) came from B&BW. I am also a fan of the mint line as well.... Its like they finally realized they were losing their market who grew up, and now they're finding us again. |
I try not to get attached to Bath and Body Works fragrances or products, as it seems they always discontinue the ones I love, like Orange Blossom and Ylang-Ylang Myrrh, but I do love all their cherry blossom scents, and they've actually kept those for a long time (yay). I have an eau de toilette of the white cherry blossom scent and I love it. It's simple and warm.

onesnowy FYI when I was in BBW recently an employee told my husband (yes he likes the store also) that they discontinue products and bring them back 6 months later sometimes under a new name. Same product though!!
I love the store and have for many many years. I don't think their prices are bad at all for what you get. I have some True Blue Spa soap that I love and many other thing from there. |
I haven't been to a Bath and Body Works in awhile, but I swear by their body cream in the winter. It's fantastic for really dry skin (winter + dry climate is a disaster). My favorite scent is Mango Mandarin...they used to have a lilac scent I really liked but they discontinued it.

Nikki, I'm stingy. I just think that if a place is having a lot of sales, they probably jack the prices up a bit. It's part of my cynical marketing thinking. ;)
But I'm glad I'm not the only one who drifted and just noticed them again. I'm looking forward to going back and trying some more of their spa line. I have heard a lot of good things about their lip gloss too. I was hoping to find a body mask there, but I didn't see anything like that. Although the sugar scrub is on my list of things to get next time. I've also added on the aloe socks, which sound very interesting. Side note inquiry: Does anyone know of a place that would sell mud masks to use on the body? I got a free sample home spa treatment through Arbonne that had the body mask. I wanted to find something that was more available because when we move, I won't have an Arbonne rep nearby. |
Actually, I was in my local B&BW, although that one is a much bigger one than I'm used to seeing, I saw they were selling mud from the Dead Sea that could (possibly) be used on the body. The brand started with an "A", I'm sorry I don't remember it. Maybe it's on their website?
Sorry I couldn't help more, but I do remember they had mud! =) |
Shesus, here is a site with Body Mud Masks.

After Christmas I spent almost $100 at BBW because it was the only time they sell their non-floral glycerin soaps(I bought 20) and the only time they bring out their fruit scented body cremes. Since it all was priced at 3/$10, 2/$5, etc., I made out like a bandit. The salespeople lament that these things are what people ask for all the time (I love the Mango Mandarin body creme), but that the company doesn't listen-even they miss the old stuff. I liked their stock because they had a wide variety of fruit scents-I can't handle florals at all; Victoria's Secret used to sell similar things that I would stock up on and now it's not there. Luckily, I bought so many body sprays, I won't run out for a long time. |
I usually only set foot in B&BW to buy gifts or gift cards. There's not much there that I like anymore.
Lotions? I use unscented. Body washes? Unscented if I can find it, but otherwise I really like the Boots one I got at Target recently. I've moved on from B&BW hand soaps to foaming hand soap that Crompsin introduced me to (by giving me 3 bottles of it) and I love the "Mango Splash" scent so I probably won't be going back. My mom loves their wall flower thingers, and I got her an oil burner there a few Christmases ago. I get migraines if I'm in the store for too long, and I have the same experience with some of their scents just trying to use them! When I bought body washes there, my favorites were mango mandarin and coconut lime verbena. Yum. |

I wish we had a Body Shop closer to where we live, as he can handle that. The fragrance in their products isn't as overwhelming. |
There is a store just around the corner from me that is called Body Time. I've purchased gifts and a few things for personal use there in the past year. I will miss it when I move. It's a small chain, only in Northern California. The scents are subtle and refreshing, based on essential oils.
I have never been a fan of Bath & Body Works. Their body sprays give me terrible headaches and their lotions give me rashes. |
I was just in there yesterday, and was thinking how frustrating it is that everytime I find a scent I love, they get rid of it. Sigh... and I STILL haven't found one I like as much as I liked Daffodil Fields.
That said, I DO like the Coconut Crush in their "Pop Culture" line. Totally reminds me of the beach :) |
Speaking of coconut, they used to have the BEST coconut sugar body scrub. You could come out of the shower smelling like tropical paradise! Not sure if they carry it anymore, but I'll definitely pop in and see what's new there.

The Bath and Body Works store we have here isn't anything great, it's a wee bit expensive considering the exchange rate. Even the discounts are a scam.
However, I adore the Warm Vanilla, Japanese Cherry Blossom and the Midnight Pomegranate scents. The Body Lotion for the Midnight Pom is just so sensual. *sighs happily* |
