Yup. Rookie status doesn't last very long at all and full member status is soon after, so long as you can prove that you've a brain in your head.

For me it's working on that avatar now, then the custom title. After that I can relax, there's not really anything else to achieve after that.

I'm led to believe that getting off Rookie status is a combination of having a certain number of posts to your account, and also proving that you think about issues when you post (as Martian said, 'prove that you've a brain in your head.')

Just relax and enjoy.. i know i'm in no rush

They are not goals to work toward. Rather, they are landmarks on the journey from here to enlightenment.

And there is much to achieve after avatar and user title come on the scene. Those are only projections of your personality. Work on your reputation here, your own views of the world, your prejudices and problems, but never think there's nothing left to achieve.

Getting your avatar and title are kind of like having sex for the first time. They are markers to show what you've already done, but they are not the end of the road. They are the beginning. And it often takes a more mature view to see that.

I was wondering about the avatar thing. At what point does one reach avatar status?

Let me tell you, there's something nice about no longer having rookie next to your name. Although I have not seen any immediate changes to what I can do.

Breaking down the internets to a manageable piece helps you to see that there are plenty of good people out there. When groups are too large, they lose their personality and become faceless. Here, it helps to bring out the best of us - most of the time.
