Greetings
A new user here, from Atlanta. A brief looksee found this to be holding some high classs conversation, which I always enjoy. I'm old as dirt, work as an engineer, write and play music when I get the chance.
Interests: Spirituality (A Course in Miracles student), Psychology (communications, perception), Deep Ecology (as in Quinn, Jenson, Diamond). Pleased to make your acquaintance... |

Found you through a referrer (someone linked to an image on my site in a debate about the national debt). If this forum manages to avoid slinging bile as a matter of course, even in discussions on politics, I'm intrigued.

I live in Cambridge, MA; a.k.a. "The People's Republic". I'm a fan of Tiger Woods, Deval Patrick, Muhamed Ali, and Barack Obama... not in any particular order. I look forward to a time in my lifetime when race, religion, and sexual orientation are all no longer barriers to civil human interaction. I'm a huge sports fan, I feel that the athletic-feminine physique is truly an art form, and my goal is to live the next 40 years of my life much more exuberantly than the last 40.

Lizra Welcome to the tfp! The board has a wide variety of ages. The ones who are just a bit older seem to stick around longer. Stop by the tfp chat and see what is up sometime.
USMC6531 I know there are a few former Marines on the board including a friend of mine Fat_Boy. He has been out for roughly 9 years, but I am sure he would not mind hearing from you. newshoes Welcome. When you are done configuring, perhaps (stereotype ahead) you can stop by the entertainment board and check out the Dr. Who thread. deezelnDC I lived near DC for four years when I went to UMD. Where do you live? I liked it there a lot and was actually back there for 20 hours (in Baltimore) Friday. QUick work meeting and had time to pick some crab and drink some Natty Boh before getting on the plane back home. zed wolf Well - hopefully you found the ketchup you were looking for. There is lots of other stuff around. Welcome either way. dorkette1980 First I thought that you were really young. Then I realized that I am really old and 1980 makes you 28. Yikes. Well, the nice thing about being a dork is that once you cross the line, you realize that you are far more comfortable in your skin. At least it worked for me. I am a giant geek. Hopefully you can find more of your kind here without really trying. ironpham While I don't play it, there is a pretty big WoW crowd here on the board. Check it out over at Tilted Gaming or whatever it is called. Then again, don't. . . I hear that game is hella addictive and you won't have time to hang out.

Well guys, we've recently had problems with people crossposting on other forums, so if something looks familiar, let a mod know some details. We like to set ourselves apart from other forums however we can.

yet another noob
Just thought I should introduce myself. I'm Xera. I don't really know how I wound up here. I was looking for something, I dont know what anymore. I think someone on another board said something that I needed to research to decide if I agreed or not and I followed a trail of links to here. This looked interesting and stimulating so I decided to join in and voila, here I am.
