Yay Noob!
Hi I'm Rachel and I'm and undergraduate student at Texas Tech University (Lubbock, TX). I've got 2 more semester to finish my bachelors in electrical engineering. This summer I'm working at a leading semiconductor manufacturer as at test engineer.
I was introduced to this site by a cool friend of mine (JStrider) so I'm excited to join the community! |

I don't ordinarily participate in threads like this, but I've been around the site and haven't found the right place to make my virgin post. It seems that this forum will be a bit of a fun challenge; that's a good thing. I'm nearing my final year of undergraduate University, studying neuroscience. I have broad interests other than my studies--history, historical psychology, philosophy, religion, linguistics, India/southeast Asia and the Middle East, world politics--but am amateur in most of them. Despite my inherent love for the humanities, after I graduate I plan on going to medical school in pursuit of a career in neuropsychology or biology. I will probably regret it.
No one invited me. I stumbled onto the site myself. Last edited by Tuft; 06-15-2009 at 01:26 PM.. |

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Lady Sage
My ladyfriend decided after reading some posts and browsing the forum to join this A.M.
As a surprise I thought I could semi-introduce her while she is at work and when she gets home, she'll see how welcome and how many friends she shall have here. She is a wonderful woman. She's a bank manager, pagan, 29, reads Pahlaniuk in 2-3 days (Hell any book for that matter, just happens Palhaniuk is her latest author of choice) and she is beyond doubt, the most giving, caring, understanding and sweetest woman I have ever met. (She's very outspoken and will definately speak her mind, though.) So, please feel free to welcome and show her that she is among friends....... Lady Sage........

Hi. My name is Mike and I live in the wonderful small town of Mineral, Va. I am 51, divorced, and have had an interest in the "lifestyle" for many years. Only recently, however, was I able to indulge some of my fantasies thanks to a wonderful but, alas, former g/f. My personality is on the Dom side but I have an unquenchable desire to learn, and I hope to learn much from you all. Best regards to all!

I have just joined this forum. I am a 71 year-old retired Engineer/Scientist with many, many and varied interests, including e-mailing with a host of people across the country. I have interests in (1) computers-I have a Macintosh G3, would love to have one of the new Mac Intel machines that runs both OSX and Windows!-a 3 GHz PC with all the bells and whistles, a 700MHz PC that primarily the wife uses, and several old machines out in the garage gathering obsoletion dust as it were. (2) Photography, I have 3 35mm Canon single lens reflexes with all manner of lenses, etc, a Sony DS70 digital camera, an Olympus E-300 8 MP single lens digital camera, a new digital camcorder and 2 older models sitting around, (3) writing, have about 40 short stories and two novellas, haven't hit the big time yet! (4) digitizing old 33 1/3 LPs and old cassette tapes of music to CDs and DVDs, (5) digitizing years and years of photos to CDs and DVDs, (6) surfing the NET, of course, (7) following the Houston Astros baseball team (grew up in Houston, Texas, went to Elementary, Jr. High, High School and U of H there), UCLA college basketball and football, USC football, sports in general,(8) traveling by car when we can (wife currently in Seattle baby--sitting two grandsons while daughter and husband attend seminar in Wash., DC-when she returns we'll take a car trip up Highway 395 all the way to Reno for a stay there, then across the Extraterriestrial Highway to Vegas, then home) darn high gas prices here in S. California will prevent anything more than that! (9) Astronomy, took some classes at night at one of the Community Colleges. (10) plus other varied interests. I grow tomatoes in container gardens, make my own audio music disks, will be transferring digital video from our new camcorder to computers and then to DVDs, like to record movies off of cable onto DVDs via DVD recorder, etc, etc, etc. I was in the Army from 1957-1960, with Army Security Agency, spent 15 months on Shemya Island, The Rock, AKA "The Black Pearl of the Aleutians", and two years after that working for the Federal Aviation Agency, traveling all over the dusty South in a Government vehicle putting avionics into airports. That's about it in a large nut shell. Shemyakid, Southern California..

SHEMYAKID again. I completely forgot to mention that I have a great love of reading also. I read avidly, fiction, non-fiction, history, philosophy, whatever. I took night classes at a local community college in Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, California History, U.S. History, World History, Creative Writing (3 semesters plus Advanced Creative Writing back in the 1970/'80s), I love reading History, Civil War, World War II, alternate history, science fiction/fantasy, Physics, Astronomy, etc. I have discovered the author, Harry Turtledove and his marvellous novels of alternate history, I have his "Guns Of The South", "How Few Remain", "Days of Infamy", "The End Of The Beginning" and some others (Check the site, http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/t/harry-turtledove/). I am reading his "How Few Remain" currently but I am also reading Jack Finney's "From Time To Time", the sequel to his "Time And Again" that I first read years ago. Check him out at:http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/f/jack-finney/
Best regards to everyone. SHEMYAKID |
