Logging off of the forums
I'm not really a newbie, but this is a newbie question...
When I browse (and #tfp chat) from work, after I'm done I click the logoff link. The forum then says cookies have been cleared. Then it sends me back to the index, and it says: "welcome back, numist" so, I'm not really getting logged off. The system is WinXP, logged in as admin, under IE5, to logout right now I just physically delete the cookie from the computer. Anyway, anyone else unable to logoff properly? How can it be fixed? |
When browsing from work, I always use the Internet Options on my browser Tools to delete cookies, delete files, and clear history. You might want to go into \Windows\Recent and delete anything there, also. If you use the Links Forum to go off-site, I would also suggest running Ad-aware, Spybot, or some other spyware-detection software.
As to your question why the "log off" doesn't work - I have no idea. |
oh well.. maybe Ill just disable cookie logging on tfp while Im public...

one thing to consider.
when you browse http://tfproject.org, you receive a cookie when you browse http://www.trpfoject.org, you receive another cookie. when you log out of one, it may still see the other's cookie. browse from http://tfproject.org (no www) as much as possible. if you log out of that incarnation and still find yourself logged in, hit the www site and try it again, or vice versa. it's an odd problem, but it happens. |
