How do mods merge threads? - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

I didn't really know where to post this but just out of curiousity, when threads are merged how is it done? Are the all the post just listed by time or is one thread then followed by another?
Just curious.

It's as if it started as one thread. All posts are sorted by date and time.
