What do i get for donation?

Is there anything that I get in retrun like a title?

An avatar? ( i don't have 250 posts yet! ) or something special? Let's say 20 dollar donation since this seems to be a fairly mature forum.

Fourms where they just spam lots of stupid comments over and over again such as say....

Genmay -> Genmay

AEC and The Pit are okay though

cheerios 07-28-2003 01:29 AM

you get a sense of civic duty, and a little "Donator" tag under where your avatar would be, above your registered date.

redravin40 07-28-2003 05:57 AM

The knowledge that you are supporting one of the most diverse and unique adult communities on the web.
I send what I would usually spend on cable TV since I get a lot more out of it then I ever did TV.

Booty Man 07-28-2003 07:54 AM

It's all about supporting a great community! :)

cheerios 07-28-2003 05:34 PM

lol, awesome Lunatic, we appreciate it! :)

MSD 07-28-2003 11:25 PM

What I would spend on cable? If I did that, I would be sending in 95 bucks monthly, but have no internet because Cablevision provides that, too.

DelayedReaction 07-29-2003 12:13 PM

I donated as a way of saying thanks for all the porn I've enjoyed over the years.

I also think the board itself is fucking great.

be2fiction 07-30-2003 03:28 PM

I'm also thinking about donating...

Also we need more items to photochop as that is my favorite part of these forums.

If I understand correctly, it's accepted here that if you don't have the cash to donate, it's ok, just contribute to the community by posting your thoughts on the many threads presented. I.E. If you can't contribute bucks, at least contribute brain power.

cheerios 08-06-2003 01:08 PM

yup, that's the way of it. we love donations, they help keep us afloat, but we understand. a few of us mods are poor college students and the like ;) we all know what it's like. So, all we REQUIRE is your shining presence. ;) :)

MSD 08-06-2003 07:49 PM

If you send in $5000, I come to your house and do the Macarena naked.

You get to bug the shit out of all the other non-doners, asking them to donate ;-)

weiistone 08-26-2003 01:25 AM

goof7ball 08-30-2003 03:28 PM

OK, so now that I've donated, when will it show up in my profile?

As Hal said in another thread:

He works, has to maintain the site, and has real life commitments to keep. It may take a few days, but if you donated and provided a username at the time of donation, it will show up. Just have to be patient about it. ;)

goof7ball 08-31-2003 10:37 AM

No problem, I don't mind waiting. I just wanted to know what the general timeframe was.

Here is another question: How did you find the quote from Halx? Did you just remember reading it before, or did you do a search? Before posting my question I looked around trying to find the answer, but reading the seemingly relevant threads and doing a search didn't turn up anything.

In fact, maybe the question here is more general- how do you veterans tend to navigate the site? Do you just randomly dive into a forum and then pick an insteresting thread, are you subscribed to lots of threads? Also, when you come across a super long thread, do you read the whole thing, or just the last page before adding your own post? I feel obligated to read the whole thing, but sometimes that can take forever.

The timeframe is different from everybody.

Sometimes it's because we have answered the same question so many times we know exactly where to go. The search function works pretty well if you use the wild card.

I tend to start by checking the threads I have posted to or that have been pretty heated lately.
If I find a thread that looks interesting but that has gotten really long I always read the whole thing before I post.
That way I don't repeat something someone else imght have said (usually better then I did) and I get some great insight.
After you have been here a while it won't seem so daunting.
Jump on in the water is fine.

Nimbletoe 09-07-2003 11:56 AM

I'll be donating next weekend when I get my debit card.

Can you put some kind of upper time limit on it? I donated two weeks ago and still haven't heard anything. How long should I wait before I get concerned?

I did the filing last week... if your donation was not recorded then you probably didn't include your username

send me a PM with how you sent the donation, how much you sent, and any identifying info that I would have seen with the donation
