Forum Question

What is the "Upright" under my username?

filtherton 10-27-2008 08:08 PM

It means upright, as in The Upright Citizens Brigade. You're on the level, and your title reflects that fact.

Halx 10-27-2008 08:09 PM

It is your user title or rank. You'll notice that the more you participate, your title will change. Eventually, you'll be able to customize it yourself.

Nice avatar, by the way. I love xkcd. I wish more people I knew understood the humor.

ketch90 10-27-2008 08:10 PM

I see. Thats cool, I'm gonna have to post more.

Dixy 10-29-2008 05:54 AM

I see the statistics does not show the posts in the "Nonsense" forum. If I want a "higher" rank, then I need to post in other, more serious, fora as well?

Cynthetiq 10-29-2008 05:56 AM

there are a few forums that do not count posts, nonsense is one of them. it's up to you to discover where to contribute and how that contribution makes the community better.

ratbastid 10-29-2008 06:08 AM

But you should know, we don't take rank all that seriously around here. There's a level you reach where a few more things open up to you, but don't worry about that--just participate and have a good time.

Halx 10-29-2008 06:29 AM

Good point, ratbastid. We don't really care all that much about your rank. We don't show post counts next to your name for a reason. All that matters here is the quality of your posts.

The_Jazz 10-29-2008 06:54 AM

What?! We have ranks?! Since when?!

Heh. I think I'm funny anyway... :)

Amaras 10-29-2008 07:19 AM

Some folks are rank, some folks have rank. Meh.

MSD 11-11-2008 08:28 PM

It changes if you post while lying down. We have ways of knowing these things

lotsofmagnets 11-12-2008 01:39 AM

i always wondered what "upright" meant. the problem is that i post a lot from bed and i´m lying down - there is a flaw in the matrix!

Daniel_ 11-12-2008 02:00 PM

It's mis-spelling. It's supposed to say "Up Tight" because you ask too damned many questions. :p

ketch90 11-14-2008 07:00 AM

I see, that must be it. Because we college students can be very uptight
