New girl.
Hello!
I've just joined TFP, and wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I've had a look around and read a number of the threads with great interest, so I thought I would post as I think I would enjoy being a member here. A short bit about myself: I love playing and listening to music, reading, driving (preferably in the countryside) with no particular destination in mind, coffee, existentialism, baking, good conversation. I have recently left my job, where I worked at a school where I was providing pastoral/welfare/emotional support to students, and covering lessons here and there when teachers were absent. In September I am going back to university to study for a Masters in Cognitive Studies, run between the Psychology, Philosophy and Linguistics departments. I'm ridiculously excited about it. Anyway, enough from me for now! I look forward to reading more interesting discussion and participating. |

I love linguistics. I took a course in it from cracked old professor who lectured balancing on one foot while repeatedly fiddling with his belt buckle.

Thank you for the warm welcome! I've had a poke around a few threads and am really enjoying it already. The people here seem to have a lot of interesting things to share.
Poppinjay - I love eccentric academics like that! A small part of me thinks I'd like to be one of those sorts one day. I can't wait to start learning the linguistics stuff. |

Hello tinycities! Are you made of ashes?
You sound like the sort of person who's going to fit in quite well here. Welcome.

I have a Crestwood semi-hollow (among others in my collection) and clearly therefore also have a similar appreciation for such instruments. All the same, I didn't want to make a big deal about the guitar, because some people think I talk about guitars too much as it is.
And then I saw that you'd posted it in the ebay thread, and that you were taking proper care of it (or getting someone else to, anyway). I think I'm in love. You and me are going to get along just fine, I reckon.

Working on it, my man. I gots lots of iders, just haven't gotten around to replacing that crappy 4 track yet... The guy at the store says they're on backorder, and that he'll have one for me "in a couple of weeks," whatever the hell that means.
