Since my amusement is a little slow...

I thought maybe I would make a formal introduction of myself. Sure, I've been on here for almost a month, but I don't think a random post here and there is going to introduce me as well as this thread might. (:

On with it, then!

For starters, my name is Minka. Kind of like the porn star, only I don't have a crazy looking face and gigantic boobs.

I'm 25 years old and am a single mom. Let's see... I have a huge interest in photography (and art in general), but I'm really lazy. So, I tend to take a lot of pictures of myself and my son. Trust me, I have HUNDREDS on this computer.

Erm...

I have a pet peeve about grammar and spelling, but I probably won't correct yours. Everyone makes mistakes, including me. Though, if you see me make one, please correct me. Just not in a rude manner. =P

uhhh...

I have a tendency of lurking, but I really am a nice person. (:

And odd. Yes.

Okay, I'm really not all that interesting. I tried. (:

Pft You're not even that hard to get along with. Trust me, I've dealt with worse.

Plus, you're cute. As unlikely as it is, if I ever met you and had any problems, I could just duct tape your mouth and gaze.

Not that I've ever done anything like that... =P

welcome to our space on the internet.

have a good time and don't fret about lurking, usually some post or thread will illicit a response and you'll want to post something. Don't worry we don't bite unless asked.

Oddity is a rare personality trait that most people are not willing to show off very often. It's a shame, really. ):

And, my smilies are more awesome when they are backwards.

Gotcha! This is a sentence fragment. I suggest recasting it as follows: "Though, if you see me make one, please correct me--just not in a rude manner." The em dash does wonders to one's style, and I think it does well for you here.

But seriously, nice post. It looks like it shows your personality, which is good. I look forward to more of your posts.

While technically correct, an occasional sentence fragment could be regarded as a stylistic choice. Perhaps the lady thought that a sentence fragment there was the best way to convey her meaning. A bit of irony, perhaps?

Anyway, welcome to our little corner of the web. We're all a bit odd, so if you're a bit odd as well you'll fit right in.

Soon... it'll consume you... it'll get you too... get out while you still can.

Hello,

I like the name "Minka" better than the name "RangerJoe", but that might just be me. As a guy, I would prefer the name "Thad" to something like "Chester" or "Clarence". I wouldn't like to be saddled with "Elrod" either. (Sorry you Chesters. Clarences, and Elrods. Nothing personal.) And as for your laziness, I'll bet I have you beat. I can sit here at my computer, look under a nearby table and there lies a nickel that has gone untouched since about this time last year. Nickels aren't worth much so I won't go crawling for it for economic reasons. I actually vacuum around it (when I bother to vacuum at all). And no one but me ever comes into this computer room. So there's no reason to grovel for it for aesthetic purposes. Someday I'm going to have to go after it. If it lies there too long the gray carpet will fade around it while the carpet below it will remain darker. When that happens I'll have to leave the nickel there indefinitely to hide the color difference.

I know, I know, hide it from who?

Ahhh My son is 8, 5' tall, 100 lbs, and wears a size 8 shoe. In men. It makes me want to cry. He's a great kid, though. Straight A student and super smart. He has a tendency of being reeeeeeally hyper (adhd), but I refuse to put him on meds. He's great how he is. (: I love photowhoring him, he's my favorite subject to photograph, but I'm unfortunately not allowed to post him here. ): He looks nothing like me, though.
