evil?
Is a person considere:confused: d evil if the never act on the inages and voices in their head?
|
The world is coming to that, unfortunately. But you can help stop that, with a vote for the right candidate.
|
That's funny, Hal. BTW I love the little teapot bit.
If a person never acts on voices in their head, how is anyone to know evil thoughts reside? So even if they were evil, nobody would know. Why do I have the tune to the Twilight Zone starting in my head now? |
Confusion and psychosis aside, I offer a hello to you and your "friends".

You have multiple copies of a Japanese city in your head? Cool! How's the weather there?
|
No one can know what you're thinking.
Until they develop mind-reading devices, you can think about sodomizing rabbits and dangling people by their testicles with barbed wire all you want. It is ONLY by our actions, appearance, and speech that people can form an opinion of us. If you don't act, appear, or speak crazily, no one will be the wiser. It is when the voices become intolerable to YOU that YOU can decide to seek professional help. If you're okay with them and you don't manifest them to others, they're just an added bonus. |

To the OP: I suppose you'd have to define evil first ... and who does that? That's the scary part. |

I think that as a rule of thumb though, if you do have voices in your head, ignore them. It didn't do Joan of Arc much good |
You can think about fucking a Bass all you want, just don't follow through...
|
I'm not entirely sure what's going on.
|
I'd say that the answer is definitely no.
Because... if a person has good/moral thoughts but never acts on them, then they cannot be considered "good". |
Since i started this I guess I should weigh in again. The original question came to me because some of fucked up thoughts that cross my mind. I would never, ever act on them. But the fact that they appear in there is scary sometimes. Plus I feel a little disconnected sometimes. I saw a baby stillborn in the back of my ambulance one day and had no feelings about it, good or bad. It just was. Anyone understand?:expressionless:

I heard a lecture by a Buddhist Nun and according to her, for Kharma's sake, thoughts do count. My memory is hazy but I recall that Right Speech, Right Action and Right Thought are all basic tenets and goals of a Buddhist follower.
If you are dominated by these thoughts, they probably influence the way you behave outwardly if only by making you dull at parties. I recently had my first tooth filling. The feeling of half my face being frozen was interesting to say the least. I'm reading a collection of Horror stories from the 19th and early 20th century so my thoughts while driving home leaned toward the macabre. Playing with my dead bottom lip I contemplated the painless ease with which I could cut the thing off for fun and experimentation. It's an insane thought (and good fodder for a story) and somehow at the time it was truly tempting. But the thought passed as the anesthetic's grip faded. I don't believe that passing grotesque chain of thoughts makes me insane but I guess as in all aspects of character, it's a matter of degree, ebb and flow. Anywho, welcome to the board. :) |

Or you can go to The Full Monty and post there, but that's at your own risk. If someone steals your pics, the staff is going to say "that's too bad" and move on to the next thing. In Exhibition, we actually have ways of tracking that kind of thing. |
