I'm a Registered Nurse, and I live in Florida.

There you have it..that's probably more than I've ever written in an intro, so I'm going to take some aspirin and lie down to recover.

Yes, we are a rather unique bunch. Well, I take that back. It seems there are two types of nurses. The sick and twisted, and the Florence Nightengales. I sometimes wish I was in the latter :shakehead:

the only ones I ever met were my nursing school teachers...you know the type, I'm sure! But out in the real world? Maybe one or two, fresh out of school, all dewy eyed and naive..but we converted them in pretty short order!

The newbies are still blissfully naive, and some are easily spooked. There is a certain amount of enjoyment to be had by locking some giggly new girl in the morgue cooler. (bonus points if the cooler isn't empty).

I was very fortunate...I was running 911 calls for 9 years, so I had seen more than half the floor nurses I met, and didn't come on the job completely green. I had about 13 years of medical field experience before I became a nurse, so I had a good grip on things. It definitely made school a heck of a lot easier, too!!
