You should already be able to. If you're starting a new thread or have clicked the "Post Reply" icon (note, this doesn't work in quick reply unless you click the "Go Advanced" button"), type in the text you want in the message box, then scroll down to the "Manage Attachments" button. Click on it and a window should pop up (make sure you allow popups from the tfp if you've done all of the above so far but aren't getting the popup). Then, browse to the file you want to upload and upload it. (make sure it's 100 kB or under). That should be it.

Some boards let you post attachments and others don't. If the posting rules say that you may not post attachments, then nobody can post attachments in that board. Any images you see on those boards are hosted elsewhere and then linked to the TFP.

Hmm, Tilted Photography is supposed to allow attachments. I'm not sure what's wrong here. I don't have the time to look into it right now, but I'll try and check it out later tonight.

Sorry for the delayed response.
The ability to post attachments is limited to those users who have been approved for "full member" status. Stick around and participate for a bit, and it generally doesn't take long for that to happen. Once users participate enough to become "Tilted" rather than "Upright," they are flagged for review by the moderators, who then handle promoting the users to "full member." This is in no way meant as a punishment for new users, but rather an encouragement to actively participate in the forums for a little bit before contributing to the site's bandwidth costs

Don't worry, though, squeeeb. You'll be a full member before you know it. Until then there are some decent image hosting sites.
I think there's a even an extension available for Firefox that adds an option to the right click menu which lets you host any image you see while surfing the net on imageshack. Let us know if you have any questions.
