Need Opinions Here Because I Am Totally Lacking Design

so before the chinese new year, my parents want me to incorporate an aquarium stand into an existing ledge/short wall we have at the foyer. the floor is tiled there so i will be building on top of the tiles and near attaching it to the ledge and supporting the weight of the tank using studs (2 x 4).

http://misc.kwanz.net/ledge.jpg

the aquarium is about 62 inches long and so is the straight part of the ledge.

so the help here is which do you all like here?

http://misc.kwanz.net/ledge2.jpg

this is easy but that part of the ledge still sticks out

http://misc.kwanz.net/ledge3.jpg

this was a thought, but not sure if this looks good or if this one does...

http://misc.kwanz.net/ledge4.jpg

i also thought to do like the first one and just knock out the rest of the ledge and re-do the tiles. the reason i can't just make the entire ledge the desired depth is because there are tiles on the bottom that would just show still

sorry, this might have been better in the how-to forum, but i figured this was not really asking how, but for opinions and this forum gets more traffic. thanks all

Just a matter of taste I suppose, but I like the second one best.

second one is best

Agree - second. Seconded! Heh.

Of those you posted, I like the second one.

Have you considered extending the bottom of the tank to be just below the edge of the incline, forming a 90 degree angle at the bottom? I think that could work.

The second is definitely better, but the first would be good if you put some shelving or something in the empty weird space.

definately the 2nd one.

it has continuity and it;s balanced--it works with the shape of the wall.

The simpler, second one will also have less diffraction from the glass, and therefore, easier viewing.

so here is an aerial shot of the work in progress as my mom thought this would be the best orientation of it...and as you all can see, the angle was the other way. thanks everyone.

whichever is less work for you, so you can spend the rest of the time putting together a 3d postcard thing.

I think the first one looks the best.

No I'm only kidding, it's the second really.

I wish I could build stuff.
