Politicians, don't you just love 'em?

And to my knowledge, this happens quite a few times, in Korea and Taiwan.

Reminds me that in England's House of Commons the Government side is exactly two sword lengths away from the Official Opposition...

I think that the Taiwanese legislators have also gone at it on occasion. And there have been fistfights on the floor of the U.S. House and Senate.
I don't know about the British Parliament, but I watch Question Time on C-SPAN from time to time, and they don't need to use fists or weapons -- they fight really, really well with their mouths. Yeah, we speak English here in the states, but English really belongs to the Brits, and they sure know how to use it. I get the impression that if an MP hauled off and whacked someone on the floor he'd lose face -- because if he'd _really_ been on his game, he'd have been able to destroy the other guy without ever lifting a fist. |

Rodney... today you are correct, but back in the day? The two sword lengths came in very handy.

It's true that a good politician should be able to destroy the other guy with words, but it doesn't stop them getting barred from the commons every now and again. I think that it's arms reach with a broadsword in the commons between the two lines.

At least they are passionate about what they do. Sometimes I think our politicians don't give a rat's ass about politics as long as they can keep their nicely paid jobs. A bit of fisticuffs in riksdagen would make me respect our politicians more right now.
