maybe if I could understand a damn word she was saying..

That song sucks, in my opinion.

Only my opinion, of course..

I have respect for the idea of the song. However, I think she should put more effort into her music before she releases it.

Everyone is a Monday morning quarterback...............few people have recognized the fact that the federal government can't legally step in until formally asked to by the local governments. Everyone seems to be using their 20/20 hindsight to criticize, but I sure didn't see any of THEM speaking up beforehand warning of the danger.........meh, partisan politics are going to rip this country apart eventually. :(

Plenty of people knew what was going to happen before it happened, and plenty spoke up. No one did anything tho *shrugs*

I'm just suprised it hadn't happened earlier with all the hurricanes that constantly plow that area each year.

Edit: song wasn't terrible

And local disaster prevention plans are to be decided at local government levels...........I don't see how any reasonable person can lay the blame on anyone higher thatn city/state level.

Haven't we hashed this out in countless other threads?

Can't we... I don't know... talk about the song? My illogical use of ellipses? Whether I spelled ellipses right or not?

I for one thought the song sucked. Not the intent behind it. I think music is certainly a powerful tool to mock and criticize the 'establishment,' whatever that is nowadays...

I just think if you're going to write a song, any song, mind you, then it should be pleasant to listen to, decipherable lyrics and good beat you can dance to.

I'm not sure what the point of this thread is, other than to post a link to a song, in which case it should probably be in Tilted Music if anywhere.
As far as the whole Katrina blame game, that has already been played out. If you want to get into that, take it to Tilted Politics.

I think most people have got to know and appreciate the difference of music and songwriting. I dont think the song sucks in fact I think it is excellent songwriting. It is not the music that makes a song it is the words that makes a song. What it has to say and whether or not it makes sense. This song speaks of a horrific disaster that happen. An event that took place now. I like the song because it speaks of current events and if the artist decided to bash bush then self expression is entitled. We all have our opinions. Remember she wrote the song based on her opinion thoughts, and how she felt. Not on your opinions and thoughts. Also I feel that many of you should take time to read the young ladies bio. She never said that she was a singer or rapper. She is a lyricist who states that clearly and her purpose for performing her own vocals was personal according to the bio . I respect the effort and self expression
