I lost my mojo...
Seriously.
I came to Japan 3 months ago. At first I was so excited about it. I came for a 5 months internship in a company in Kyoto. When I arrived, I befriended all of my colleagues, and couldn't wait for the parties to begin. We went out together, we had fun, I used to make everyone laugh... I made a few good pals, we went out on the regular parties that our service would organize, but we would also meet outside for drinks or even going to public bath. I kept hitting on the girls, taking every chance at what we call nampa here... Then we started going clubbing. That was nice, I usually came back home with a few phone numbers. Then I started dating my current girlfriend that I met in a club. It was really nice with everything going smoothly and lots of fun. I continued going out with the colleagues from work. But recently, I just lost my mojo. I feel like I've settled down to a very regulated life. Work, train, eat, sleep, girlfriend, occasional party. I'm just not the funny guy any more, I'm not the one who always wants to go out, offers to go have some fun or whatever. I feel I'm missing something. I'm sure all of you have had times like this. My question is, what do you usually do to get your mojo back? |
Go back into the past and find the man who stole your mojo?
Seriously, the main reason why you're feeling a bit boring is that you need to break out of the same old routine everyday Do something spontaneous, different, and exciting. |
Break the rules. All of them. If its the girlfriend that's cramping your style but you can't admit it, dump her. To be blunt, you (to yourself) is number one. You can't make any girl happy, unless you're happy.

Yup. Good advice. Routine kills.
Yesterday I decided to go on a whim to Kawaramachi, one of the most active places in Kyoto. I spent like 2000 yen in arcade games. The guys where so good, but I managed to win twice. I kicked their asses. That gave me some of my mojo powers back. Then I went to eat in an all you can eat pizza restaurant. Damn, was that good. Anyways, I'm feeling way better now. My work is still boring, but I feel like I can take it on. |
Yeah, how is the pizza in Japan?
|
Pretty awful. But hey, it's still all you can eat. I don't mind.
They even have a "Cream and banana" pizza for desert. |

Cream and Banana? Man, that sounds good. Is that under that same "all you can eat" deal? And how much is that deal, anyways? |

Hence the "All you can eat" last night. But sometimes it's just so hard to get away from the routine... |

cream and banana pizza... that sounds pretty good...
and man... you think you've lost your mojo... i havnt gotten any action in over a year and a half... :| |
Yeah but, I was a virgin until I met my current gf, and before that, I had my mojo most of the time. I was a fun guy, who people liked to be around with, always hitting on the girls... I used to lose it from time to time but, i eventually always got it back...
I don't think that your mojo has anything to do with sex. It's more about your overall life, is it balanced or not? But sex can be a good mojo boost... |
Honestly, I think it's just part of growing up.
(the mojo losing, not the pizza, that is) |
You can't say that... A life wothout mojo is not a life.
My theory is that mojo follows a cycle. Ever noticed how everything is fine for a month or two, then you lose it for another two month, then you get it back for two more months... |
almost like male menstruation...
|
You should go to one of those sushi bars that lets you eat off the girls...
Man, Banana and Cream Pizza? That's crazy dude, the weridest pizza I ever ate was a German pizza loaded with Chocolate, Strawberry, Whip Cream and Ice Cream. It made me sick and I couldn't even finish it and that's a rarity. |
As incredible as it may seem, it's good. Next time I go there, I'll post a pic.

Are you involved in any sort of arts or sports? |
I practise aikido. Now that you mention it, I haven't practised for 2 months...
