Offset gas prices
Seems a "Real Deal" and I am going to test this.....I will let you all know if it works. My test car is a beater anyway.....heh.
http://www.lubedev.com/smartgas/faq.htm Questions asked by the common man: "There is no question things will change. The real question is will the change be for the better or for the worse?" Where do I find 100% pure acetone? From a store such as K-Mart or Menards. We buy a gallon can of 100% pure acetone for about nine bucks. CVS and Walgreens have pure acetone in 16-oz. plastic bottles for three dollars. These bottles are excellent containers. Save them. How much acetone do I put into my fuel? For gasoline we use about three oz. per ten US gallons. For diesel we use about two oz. per ten US gallons. That is equal to about 2.5 ml per liter for gasoline and about 1.5 ml per liter for diesel. What kind of mileage increase will acetone give my car? Normally from 15% to 35% depending on your driving habits and how many of our mileage suggestions you have taken. We know an aeronautical engineer in San Jose whose test car went from a baseline of 19.3 MPG to 27. He certified this with his ScanGauge. That is a genuine boost of 27%. What can the car companies do to increase mileage? A lot. But they won't because improved MPG results in less engine wear and better engine life. The LaPointe Rule says that ALL the industries that make cars can improve MPG. Certainly the fuel companies could do so in a matter of days. The spark plug guys, the injector companies and of course the lubricants. When did you first start using acetone? Starting in 1953 with my 1948 Hudson, I used acetone as a test ingredient, driving up and down the coast of California. Later I used acetone in a 1939 Chevy going from California to Alabama in 1954. Been at it ever since. I love the absolute smoothness it gives my cars and trucks. Everyone does.

Hold on. Before you try this, consider the properties of acetone. Remember back to your industrial technology classes when they had you use it to melt plastic, and then consider that, especially in some GM cars, there are plastic parts that come into contact with the fuel.
If I recall from other experiments I did with acetone while bored in said industrial technology class, it's not very kind to rubber either. |

Yessss - be VERY careful. I bought pure acetone to remove acrylic nails, and dummy me put it in a plastic bowl. It ate through the bowl no problem, then started working on the metal tray on which it sat. The kicker was when it unglued the tiles on my bathroom floor upon contact.
But if you ARE serious... you can have the half bottle I've been afraid to use since

Hey, I grew up hearing the "water burning carburetor" story.
Seriously, acetone has less energy than gasoline but there are a few ways it could help: 1) Your injectors are incredibly fouled. Improvement would be as obtained by adding normal fuel system cleaner (Redline, Techron,...) and would not require continued use once the effect is achieved. 2) Your timing is advanced too far, isn't computer corrected, and the acetone bumps octane to correct. (the ratios involved mean you better add Tinkerbell dust to the mix) 3) Oxygenate acts to improve combustion. (The full Merlin treatment would be required given ratios involved) 4) Most promising effect is that you drive more gently. There's no mistaking the curative potential of sugar-pills. If it floats your boat... Bad effects could be: 1) Oxygenate harms fuel system lines and seals similar to MTBE and methanol. Definitely an issue but systems vary so this depends on the vehicle. 2) You spill it on paint. 3) You ingest it, or get enough on your hands to eventually qualify for Superfund status, and your pets team up to bury you one night. 4) Neighbors see you do it. Remember, Techron is 4bottles/$10 at Costco.
