I will be attending a convention this weekend with about 200 candidates for MatchMaking setup. This for a search in a Life Partner. Parents will also be attending. This is a first time experience on this for me, even thought it feels ackward, Im going there being open minded and with good intentions.

Need ideas on how to prepare and how follow up at the end of the event?

Any other thoughts or comments are welcome.

OK, I'll bite -- what exactly is a matrimonial convention? You will put in a room wtih 200 other people for to be matched with each of those 200 people or for one person?

/me feels very old

Just be yourself is the only advice I can offer. Dress nicely but not too nicely, don't overdo it on the cologne, minty fresh breath is essential, and shine your shoes.

Ok the setup/layout is as follows from what I got. There will be 10 people assinged to 1 table 5 girls and 5 guys with a coordinater at each table. Introductions will follow and then will go around to various tables taking notes of each other. Then at mid day lunch time there will be time for one on one sessions from the ones you will be interested in. This will all be generated in a computer to make everything organized and efficeint as possible. This will be an all day session starting at 7:30am till 10pm at night with dinner/live band to end it.

I am nervous, but i want to feel confident. Its like an interview, all eyes on you the moment you step in.

Be yourself and remember that everyone else is as nervous as you are.

Personally, I'd rather go for a root canal.

Thanks everyone. The event turned out great. There were about 200 participants and I clicked with a few and will see how it goes from there. I just stayed calm and cool and built more confidence as the day unfolded. For the most part it was a good learning experience as far as what are expectations of many girls, mannerisms, see how competitive the market is and what are good questions to ask.
