It's more difficult to garnish funds from a credit card, hence the bank account. My family had some very bad experiences during PP's heyday of abuse, which I understand has improved, but it's still a little dangerous. My one recommendation would be to open a 2nd account at another bank and use it exclusively for PayPal. Your goal is to minimize funds that might be frozen for up to two weeks should PP experience an accounting error or fraud at the other end of a transaction.

Good deal. It's pretty easy to open something, on evaluation of course, elsewhere.
I am so hoping the rumors hold true and Google starts an online payment system. Paypal/ebay needs the competition.

If you just deleted the information, do you mean it was previously submitted to paypal? If so they have it on record, you willingly volunteered that information to them. Once they find cause to pursue a debt you owe, I doubt they're going to use much disgression and say, oh he deleted off this checking account, lots not garnish the bank. Although I can't speak for Canadian laws, the cost of garnishing multipe U.S. banks to pursue a debt isn't more than $10 on the average.
But on the lighter side, I wouldn't worry about it too much, just keep your bills paid and everyone's happy. Best of luck. |
