I have a lot of favorite works of art, but lately my favorite has been Girl With a Pearl Earring by Johannes Vermeer.

I am not an art lover... I can appreciate the work of the artists here on TFP because they can do what I absolutely cannot... it's wonderful work and they are very talented people... but it doesn't stir anything in me... (I felt the same way about seeing the mona lisa - i was suprised at how small it was.. and other supposed 'great works of art' - they're pretty - but they wouldn't work in my living room)

Photography - and seeing things thru the eye of the photographer is the art that I do really appreciate.. On each of my trips to Australia, I brought back a print of a photographer (that if I ever would have my picture taken, I'd want him to do it because I love his eye) Robert Billington's work I just love...
I have on one wall in my living room..

is on my bedroom wall because it makes me smile (and I got it on sale)

There's another one that I have that I can't find of two cute little boys on the front of the ferry to Bondi Beach.. there's a mist around them and it's just incredible

this a piece by jackson pollock that I just adore. Though I see most of his stuff just as splatters of paint, for some reason, this picture just hits me.

StrangeFamous' pick most closely mimics and reminds me of the image in my head when I read the Hate-Minutes part of 1984.

Senor Roboto, I used that Pollock as a CD cover once.
I called the CD "Roving Cow".

This composition by Kandinsky has got to be my favorite piece of art. I see so many different things when I look at this painting it just amazes me. The use of color just brings the whole thing alive. It makes me happy.
