Spouses that cheat
 

Ok, so after my normal daily workout and paying attention to all the ladies at the gym that flirt with every single guy there, my question is:

What is the number of people that cheat that have a gym membership compared to people that cheat that don't have one.

Now, I'm not talking about people cheating with someone from the gym, just cheat in general.

I'm not sure what the outcome is going to be, but it's a curious topic for me.

the only person i've known who has cheated did not have a gym membership...

I've never cheated and I belong to a gym (just got back), and I am certain my wife has never either and shes at the gym 5-6 days a week mostly without me.

Without that option you will have a harder time making a good correlation.

hes more interested in the spouses that cheat though, not people who don't cheat, and whether or not it has to do with meeting someone at a gym...or something.

I do, however, recall reading a "cheater's guide" that was published in playboy a few years back that said if you want to be a professional cheat and get away with it you should get a gym membership with a locker so that you can a) keep clean clothes there and b) have a place to swing by and shower before heading home after you've had your fun.

How about that... a guide for soundrals who cheat.

No surprise there. It's Stampede Week here where I live which basically boils down to a ten day party for the city. It is common knowledge that "all" men screw around this week. The number of men frequenting the bars with white stripes on the ring finger is surprisingly amusing actually. One of the radio stations even has pointers for the Stampede Week for those who intend to screw around - get a hotel room for the entire week, get a seperate cell number, etc.

Back to the original subject - I know quite a few men who have a gym membership based solely on the fact that they want to pick up chicks, not workout. Does that mean they are screwing around? I'm a little biased - I would honestly say that most of the married men I know have screwed around or would admittedly willingly and happily screw around. So I don't think it takes a gym membership to do that.

The person i have in mind did the dirty while on a light, home-based regime of stepwork with lashings of tea and buttered crumpets.

I know plenty of folks that got in shape in order to have an affair, or had an affair and got in shape.

Maybe it's the realisation that their partner is no longer fulfilling them, or the improved self esteem that they get fro becoming buffed?

What comes first? The fitness or the infidelity?

For what I intended, the poll is not flawed. It is a given that many men/women screw around, and that there are also many men/women that do not screw around, period.

I'm just looking at the people that screw around, and of those people that screw around how many of them have gym memberships.

My ex-wife screwed around and was not a gym member.

There was a study years ago where they looked at the genes of male prison inmates.

They found many XYY type males in prison and concluded that the XYY type lead to criminal behavior.

They then surveyed the general public and OOOPS, it turns out lots of men were XYY and did not have criminal behavior.

So lets say you find that 90% of the cheaters have a gym membership.

It means nothing if 90% of the non-cheaters has a gym membership too.

almost everyone at my Y is so durn focused on their workout. hey, works for me.

my s/o's ex wife cheated with numerous men and she didn't have a gym membership. she just used their room when he was at work or school. but i have seen some obvious hookups leaving the Y and getting in to their separate cars. and a married couple that used to "pick up" each other at the gym and have sex in the car or the locker room shower. that was their date night. so i guess it goes both ways?

The only thing I want to know is where is this gym of yours? :lol:

Aw cmon man, I've already went through this one in a different thread- we can draw any correlations we want, like 70% of men who go to gyms cheat on their spouses. It won't actually mean anything, and you know there's always going to be some idiot that uses their heightened powers of logic and say something like "Oh this man is likely to be a cheater because he has a gym membership".

Nobody really cheats *because* they have a gym membership, quite obviously. They cheat because they are unsatisfied with their relationship.

I used to go to a gym and nobody had sex with me. I did get screwed over by the fine print in the contract though. Had to pay for a couple months that I didn't even use the membership.

The locker room also smelt like sweat.

Wow, it is so amazing the amount of people that assume things that are not printed.

As I stated when I started this thread, it was just me being curious. I never once said that I was trying to prove one thing or another.

this thred is iinteresting i think!! does gym membership maybe also connect with vanity and consequently the need for sexual satisfaction?also the fact that regular exercise is said to make for a higher sex drive.as for the poll..i dont cheat and i am an on off member of a gym!

The title should be "Spouses Who Cheat", unless you consider persons who cheat not to qualify as people. ;)

i flirt with girls all the time, and it even rolls onto the guys depending if i am happy.

flirting dosent mean you think they are hot all the time

When a woman is married for a while and has never gone to the gym and out of the blue gets a membership, she could be(not all the time)cheating. I know two guys this happened to. Gets a new job and new friends. Starts going to the gym. Than she goes out all the time at night with these "friends". The friends start telling her, "He should treat you better, you got married too young, he should listen to you, you deserve better than that."


Then the man moves back to his mother's house. Too stupid to see it coming. Had no idea. She starts dating someone worse than you and the cycle continues.........................What was I talking about? Oh ya the gym. :thumbsup:

I have a gym membership and DO NOT cheat. It's all relative.

You can draw a correlation between cheaters and membership/non membership without surveying non-cheaters at all. However, if you attempt to extend that correlation to non-cheaters, of course its ludicrous.. not a flaw in the study, but the interpretation.
