Discussion regarding Hare-brained schemes
I just saw this thread in Tilted Nonsense about this ebay auction and it got me thinking...
When I first saw the auction, I thought the guy was an idiot - and I was going to rant about the stupidity of people and mention some particularily ridiculous ebay auctions (such as selling a grilled cheese sandwich - with a bite taken out of it - for several tens of thousands of dollars, selling your soul, ect) but gave it a bit more thought... Although I originally looked down at these people, I asked myself when the last time I made twenty grand off my half eaten sandwich was. I arrived at a sad conclusion; Never. In reality, these people may be ahead of the game - if you think about it, most things that got people incredibly wealthy were probably considered hare-brained schemes at one point. Can you imagine the inventor of the most mundane ideas trying to market them for the first time ever? Acutally, that's getting a bit off topic - I guess I am wondering (and probably hoping) that there is one idea out there that will make me a ridiculous amount of money someday. So far, I have stuck with hard work and perseverance, but sometimes it's a bit disheartening when people seem to get so far ahead with such an off the wall (idiotic) idea. Alright, truth be told, I'm a bit intoxicated so I'm probably rambling, but just to let you folks in on my thought process, I just decided to make this a poll. Is ebay guy a douchebag... probably a bit too harsh. We'll say Idiot. Bring on the discussion - It's bedtime for me Edit: Alright, after much searching, I can't figure out how to make a poll. I'm leaning towards either because of intoxication or because they aren't allowed in general discussion... So, in your responses, I'd be interested in hearing if you think the fellow is clever or an idiot, that would be most excellent

Hey, supply and demand. The supply of grilled-cheese sandwiches is apparently much smaller than the demand for them, I guess...
Props goes to the ebay guy for selling worthless shit for lots of money...the real idiot here is the dude that paid $20K for said worthless shit.

my favourites were
1) Guy who sold his ex wife's wedding dress by wearing it and posting pics 2) Nothing. (nothing for sale, you get nothing, no shipping costs for nothing) 3) Prank I think - (angry wife selling cheating husband's car for $1) 4) Kid's playstation as punishment for breaking something expensive.

I'm looking for some investors for a project of mine. I need financing to buy some land in Anaheim, California.
Then I need more money to build an amusement park and hope people will come to it. I think I'll make its theme a cartoon mouse. I hope some of you would like to invest in this worthy project. Signed, Walt |

This auction saddens me, mainly because ebay threatened to ban me if I started selling positive feedback again. |
