I'm not sure, but this might be cool.
MTV is here in my house. Filming.
They want a family member of mine to be on Room Raiders. I'll put this up for validation. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y254/MikeFer/mtv.jpg So can anyone tell me what it's worth to me if I can get in a plug for TFP? :p |
Tell them they have a shitty sellout channel and everyone knows they script their shows.
And yes, try and get a plug in :) |
I don't know if I would be bragging about MTV being at my house.
:) |
Oh people, the majority of us would jump for the chance to be on television. Do it! haha
|
I don't think I've ever seen a family member on that show, the houses always look deserted. I'm sure you could think of a creative way to get a plug in there somehow though :p
|
i've seen family and roommates a couple of times. leave tfp open on the computer, they always seem to check the computer
|
I think it would be cool. Of course I grew up in the 80's and Mtv was still music.

definently! i would be willing to do like a one day of filming type show... dating or gameshow... but i dont think i would want to do something that lasted a long time like the real world... |

You better consult Halx before involving the TFP.

I love you just for quoting Peter... |
MTV is pretty good about fuzzing out spaces and areas that don't fit within standards and practices.
Even if you were able to get something in front of the camera, if it wasn't fitting to the story then it would probably end up in the Avid trash bin. have fun on the production. eat lots of candy from the craft services table... and ask for specific favorite snacks if you haven't already. |
Update
There was just a minor, kind of unofficial filming done.
The director wanted to talk things over with my family member. Said a few things that work, a few things that don't work, that kind of stuff. To be fair, I have to say that nothing is scripted. So far, anyway. The real filming is to take place this weekend. From 7 am until possibly 7 pm. It's definitely a break from the norm around here. If anything cool happens, I'll pass it along. P.S. I was kind of kidding about involving TFP. I'd conceivably leave it up on the monitor, but I wasn't planning anything else. |

I once dressed up as Peter for a Halloween party complete with New England-ese inflection and ridiculous laugh. Sad to say, I spent the most of the night explaining who I was /threadjack |

I'll give you ten bucks if you say "and a hello to Nick in Narberth" and it gets on TV ;)
|
This is the perfect opportunity to prank said family member... (or is family member doing the raiding?)
|

However, it appears that the raider frequently gets raided as well. We have been considering planting some magnum-size condoms in an easily findable location. |

Tell them to come to my house. I need someone to do my dishes.
|
Put all the dirty underwear under the bed spread, that would be funny.
|
We're just about to wrap up shooting. Started at 7, it's now almost 8, and we're not through.
And yeah, now it's scripted. But it's been entertaining. |

what did they script? was it something that wouldn't have been done otherwise? or are they just asking to re-create and re-order to get a better picture of what already happened? |
lol just as its done come in and say to said family memeber.. "how are you likeing VH1 so far being here?" omg that would be mean
|
Quote:
Thats not mean.... just entertainment. MTV is all scripted so theres pretty much no sense in trying to hurt anyones feelings. |

Sad that nobody got it, or sad that I dressed up as Peter? :p |

Although the choice isn't scripted, the reasons for choosing who you did ARE scripted. So are the rejoinders from the people who aren't chosen. They are definitely things you probably wouldn't say, like "your room is a pigpen," or something like that. There are a lot of retakes, if the director didn't like your inflections, or body language, or whatever. They also tell you what verbiage to use. It's not like they hand you a script, but what you say is worked out just before (or during) filming, kind of on a seat-of-the-pants basis. Also, you don't really go on a date with the person you choose. They just make it look like you're going to. |

Its amazing how many people don't watch Family Guy, or know it exists. Too many people neglect their inner child. |
