Hours Spent on TFP
 

Just curious as to how many hours TFPers spend on TFP on average a day. That includes the boards and chat. And tell us why you spend that much time on. Five word minimum on your description ;). Let the discussion start.

I normally spend at least 6 hours a day, at least over the past several weeks, surfing the boards. A lot of the reason is just as a distraction at work! And because you guys are constantly making me laugh :)

I spend this much because I don't want to do anything else at school...

I spend an hour a day, 5-6 days a week.

guilty of allowing myself to be tilted for about 5 hours a day

I'm going to go with 3 on this one. I sit here and read a ton of the posts and don't even notice the time fly by.

About 3 hours a day on average...

When I first starting posting on the TFP I spent upwards of 4 hours a day on the boards, but recently I have to admit my time has dwindled to under 1 hour/day.

I find myself actually having to plan to surf here, or other daily things get in the way :(

I'm a multitasker, and flipping back and forth through chat/forum/whatever I'm workin on makes me happy most days.

I've got it open all day at work...my weekends are my down time lol

but I picked 10 hours

For me, it's not nearly long enough.

Less than an hour...I just come on here to see what's interesting (to me) then go on to whatever else. But sometimes if I have nothing to do, I can spend a whole day reading random posts, and I can find really interesting stuff that way.

I'd guess about 2 hours a day....could be a little more though.

I put 1, but that's probably just an average. I'd say up to 2 hours/day. Reason being, there are so many new threads and responses to read every day that a single check could realistically take multiple hours if I were to check all of the new threads.

I threw down 2. Between boobies, programming, and other random shit, it adds up.

I put less than one hour a day. It used to be (much) more, but because were changing to pair-programming (based on XP) i don't have that much private time anymore :(

Averaged at 3 hours.... one hour one day, five or six another... it changes depending on how slow work is going.

I put 5, but really just cause it is up in the background at work most days.

anywhere from 0 to 2 hours...then I play WoW for like 10 hours a day(if im not working:))

Four hours on average. I'm a multitasker and so it's one place I flip to...it also keeps me amused between classes.

I spend <1 hour a day only because I usually don't have the time to really check everything out. I just check what looks to be of interest and comment if necessary. I know that I used to spend more time when I actually looked at the non-discussion areas ;)

I think being a student lends itself to the multitasking on tfp . . .

all in all . . . i spend a fair amount of time with all of you :icare:

If you would have asked 6 monts ago, the answer would have been a lot higher! I'm so freakin' busy now, I don't have much time at all for net activity.

I answered 8 as about average, that is not including the weekends when I don't really get on.

I chose around 4 hours cause that seems to be the average over the last couple of weeks. I spend far too much time here and regret that I can't read more! I'm going to have to try to make a dicipline for myself and set some limits. :lol:

A few hours normally during the school year, up to 10 during the off-months because there is absolutely nothing to do back at home (and I can use IRC back home which leads to random chats in #tfp at 4am)
