haha, does anyone else think it's ironic that she "died" due to bulimia? And now she's going to starve to death?

Since I commute to work in my car, I listen to all different kinds of talk-radio so I can stay informed as to what topics are giving outrages to the extreme fringes. I noticed a couple of months ago that the extreme Right were absolutely unglued about Clint Eastwood's "Million Dollar Baby," and I remember thinking how monumentally piseed they must have been when it won Best Picture.
Now I can see how they manifested their latest outrage with Terry Schiavo.

Yeah, getting back to Liquor Dealer's post, Pat Oliphant is a hell of a cartoonist.
And I think its an interesting idea that the reason the fundies protesting have a problem with pulling the tube is their own fear of death and eternity. Its also interesting because not all hyper-christians take the same view. There are, of course, those who don't belive in modern medicine at all (Christian Scientists maybe?). Jehovah's Witnesses refuse to accept blood transfusions and usually carry very restrictive living wills. One wonders where "respect for life" became "we must perserve life in any sembalance of its form until the bare bitter end through whatever medical technology man has created." |
