Googling Security Cameras

pulled this off another board,
if you do a search for

inurl:"ViewerFrame?Mode="

in google, it pulls up unsecured cameras on networks, you can even move them. Ive watched someone work accross the other side of the world, and dogs in labs. People need to be more careful with there networks heh give it a go.
Not sure on the legal ramifications of it but its damn fun )

ratbastid 12-31-2004 06:18 PM

Pretty nifty!

Legal ramification shmegal ramifications. If they're silly enough to let Google index it, I gotta think it's fair game.

hotzot 12-31-2004 07:53 PM

lode's o fun. thanks

fluster 12-31-2004 08:02 PM

Not the most "secure" security cameras. :)

Slavakion 12-31-2004 08:33 PM

A little creepy. But fun nonetheless. Heh, Google is awesome.

Karby 12-31-2004 08:55 PM

...well that certainly was interesting. but those dogs don't seem to be doing much:)

Pham 12-31-2004 11:42 PM

JStrider 01-01-2005 02:21 AM

JStrider 01-01-2005 02:39 AM

This is way more fun than it should be.. it's freaky when someone starts controlling the camera you're watching.

A couple of city views in Japan (I think.. I haven't tracerouted or anything):

Front of a Business, I think (it's night now.. so not real interesting):

This is a bad time to check em for me.. it's nighttime at a lot of the places I look, and is black.

Thanks for the link/idea!

It's not Active X, as I can view them in Firefox on Linux.. about as far from Active X as you can get.

It doesn't seem to be flash, or java.. it's just an animated graphic. Not sure how it does it.

blitz.fenix 01-01-2005 04:08 PM

its Java, one of the sites asked me to install it

silent_jay 01-01-2005 04:21 PM

Skerious 01-01-2005 04:32 PM

is there any way to zoom with these cameras?????

blitz.fenix 01-01-2005 04:37 PM

this is awesome, can u find a way to attract ppls attention with the camera and spook em?

EDIT: To poster above me. Some cams have lots of special features. I used one that had zoom and all this other stuff but it wasn't working and I forgot link.

silent_jay 01-01-2005 04:46 PM

I wish, that would be great

Latch 01-01-2005 04:55 PM

you can spin the camera around.. that may attract their attention.. depending on where it is.

Skerious 01-01-2005 04:59 PM

I found an office boardroom!

http://138.47.51.193/ViewerFrame?Mod...esh&Language=0

It's empty, and the other links seem to show that the place is closed for the night.

There is a zoom in and zoom out function under the pan and tilt controls.

Edit: That is apparently some of them do. Also when you find one in English, you can easily see what all the controls do.

tellumFS 01-01-2005 06:32 PM

Quite possibly one of the best Google finds...ever!

mokle 01-01-2005 07:00 PM
