Give some funny details, let us into your day! Tell us how F'd up your boss is, how hot your secretary is, etc.

It sucks.
I work the job of about 3 to 4 people. And while my normal schedule is a cozy 12 - 8p I have to do many overnight projects of long hours, and I'm called in on weekends and I'm called even on vacations. well, I guess this is why I get paid the "big bucks" I don't think so, money ain't everything besides there are many of my skill level that do much less for way more. If it wasn't for the fact I'm buying a home, I'd be out of there in a split second. I can't wait til it happens. /whining & bitchin' |

My schedule rotates every week. One week I'm working during the day, the next week I'm working during the evenings, and the third week I'm working overnight shift. Just when you get used to one sleep schedule, the week is over.
Plus I'm on call 24/7 via a pager. Yippee... |

show up when I want. I leaqve when I want. I vacation when I want. I travel for business when and how I want. - AS LONG AS EVERYTHING GETS DONE
In other words - I work all day at the office and into the night at home. I work some weekends too.

during school i had terrible shifts, but after being promoted and with the coming of summer I get the good ol' 9-5 monday through Friday. I basically dont do much, just tell others what to do, its lovely. Of course, since im a full time student, going to work every day for 8 hours is getting really old really fast

My work schedule sucks. I work all of the hours that no one else want's to work. I have to work all of the holidays so they can go home and see their momma. I work for a total asshole! Oh Yeah! Did I tell you I'm self-employed.

I'm not working right now thanks to the *incredibly long string of expletives deleted* Immigration and Naturalisation Service. Bastards. My wife is American, we married over here, but it's been 7 months since out wedding and I haven't got my employment authorisation yet. I've been offered a $31,000 a year job and had to turn it down because I couldn't legally work.
So yeah, that's my work situation

i work anytime between 5 am and 10 pm, for any length shift between 4 hrs and 8, plus one for lunch, for something between 10 and 20 hrs a week, hopefully more for now. I go to school full-time during the school year, and am in summer school right now. only perk: I can tell them when i can't work, easily, and have flexible hrs. They work around my classes nicely.

i would work from 7am-3pm but i usually sleep in an hour or so over that. my family owns the business so i don't have to work when i don't want to. a few of the secretaries are really hot and it would be pure easiness hooking up with them but i don't bother with them because i don't have the time to waste on female bs right now.
as for "funny" details: there are around 130 employees, 5 of which are named mike, and 5 others are named dan. since it is hard to differentiate between them, most of them have nicknames such as fabio (has long hair and hits on the office girls), the worm (looks like a worm), sawed-off (pretty short guy), macaroni (mike arnone; rhymes), big dan (the guy is huge), little abner (another big guy, called "little" similarly to "little john" from robin hood), there are others but i can't remember them all off the top of my head. |

I work a minumum of 12 hours a day for at least 5 days a week (sometimes all 7 days).heck if I was married I would be collecting a wefare check. And then have to listen to people tell me I am over paid. Yes I am in the Military working on electrical systems for fighter jets. Heck I have thrown bad parts away that cost more than I could make in a lifetime.

I calibrate gages for an aircraft hydraulic control system manufacturer. I work second shift (it's a LOT easier measuring to 0.000005" when there's not a lot of people around to distract you). Nominally, I work 4- 10 hour days, but I usually end up with 50-55 hours a week; the job is pretty tedious, and because you're working with aircraft control systems (and devices for the space shuttle) you tend to be somewhat anal about how accurate your results are.

Well, I work for my own company, so I don't have a time clock to punch, real or figurative. My hours are dictated by the status of any current project(s), and by how much work I have to do to fix code written by our off-shore labor pool.
I always start my day early, as I go to the gym first and prefer to miss the morning rush. I will trade sleep for a smooth ride in. I am usually the first in the office, which gives me time to leisurely sip my caffiene juice and check the latest TFP posts. I work until I'm done, where <b>done</b> means "finished the bitch", "sick of the shit", or "my daughter's softball game starts in 30 minutes". Not having a time clock also means there is no magic "Get the Fuck Out" hour. Unlike in previous jobs, I never watch the clock. Sometimes <b>done</b> means "Hello? ...Hello? Anybody here? Holy shit, look at the time!". There are no "sick" or "vacation" days to accrue or keep track of. If I'm sick, I stay home. If I want to leave early, I do. If I want a day off, I take one. When I want a week off for vacation, I let my partners know my plans ahead of time. Another benefit of working for yourself is...Boobies! No one is looking over my shoulder or logging my surf destinations. On a slow day I can cover a lot of boobage. ;-)

I set my own work schedule. I come and go as I want. I work about 15 to 20 hours a week. The company I work for only see's me once a year. Also, I work out of home. I love this job. What's not to like?
