WTF, there is no way this is true

http://www.world-cnn.com/2004/WORLD/...est/index.html

But if it was true damn right rock on Canada

Redlemon 12-03-2004 02:39 PM

Cute. Nice URL.

HeAtHeN 12-03-2004 02:40 PM

Awesome.... we should've done it.

Zeraph 12-03-2004 02:42 PM

Doubt it's real, would be pretty funny if it was though.

mo42 12-03-2004 02:45 PM

I'm pretty sure it's not, as no other news "sources" are covering it.

vox_rox 12-03-2004 02:47 PM

News parody is the best, but I think we would have arrested Kissinger long before we arrested Bush, but that's another story/war/atrocity.

Still, with the recent series of threads regarding the Blitzer blunder with Parish (Canadian Member of Parliament), it wouldn't surprise me if CNN actually did report this and it was wrong. Still, I'm pretty sure that no Americans would be arrested on Canadian soil, including (especially) the Commander in Chief.

Great parody, I wonder what CNN says about it :) :)

Peace,

Pierre

Strange Famous 12-03-2004 02:53 PM

haha, Ive seen that in two places now. Its pretty well done.

Ya thats what tipped me off that it was a fake!

Church 12-03-2004 02:59 PM

Also that fact that its not CNN.com tipped me off, but that might just be me. ;)

Rdr4evr 12-03-2004 03:00 PM

If only it were true....

djtestudo 12-03-2004 03:20 PM

US would never beable to bomb Canada, because you don't know where we are :D

splck 12-03-2004 03:36 PM

Too bad it didn't happen. I'd love to see the neo-cons jumping up and down protesting...I guess I'll have to keep dreaming.

Coppertop 12-03-2004 03:38 PM

Use our nukes? If those silly canucks want Bush they can keep him.

Hahaha... Now that was funny!

tropple 12-03-2004 04:08 PM

meh. I guess the rest of you are too young to remember the other incursions that US presidents have signed off on.

It's always easier to be against taking action to oust murderous dictators.

VitaminH 12-03-2004 04:20 PM

That was pretty funny. Took me a sec before I too noticed the world-cnn.com.

TexanAvenger 12-03-2004 04:26 PM

Don't assume because of my handle, like everybody else does, that this outrages me. I truly wish I lived in the universe for which this article was written... I think it was Thomas Jefferson that said, "Dissent is the highest form of patriotism." Way I see it, we're not being NEARLY patriotic enough.

Pain Train- If you all ever do happen to take him, could you do us a favor and keep him for a while? We've had him for 58 years, it's somebody else's turn to take care of him...

HogansGoat 12-03-2004 05:09 PM

Oddly, when Clinton was under the microscope for getting a BJ from an intern, I was behind him. I was pissed off at the crap he was getting and the indiscression of the media. When I first read that damn article, i was actually happy. He is not my president. I say we impeach the fucker.

fuzyfuzer 12-03-2004 07:12 PM

what kind of world would we creae if this happened and chenney became president, i bet business would do well for 4 years if it were true

now i havent done my research, but that law was probably made for all the american convicts fleeing into canada, so that they could arrest them

JJRousseau 12-03-2004 09:49 PM

I'm not a big fan of Mr Bush but as a Canadian, I find that article a bit embarrassing. I am glad Mr Bush came to Canada and took a step to patching up our relationship. I've always thought of my neighbours to the south as family and am glad that Mr Bush conveyed that message.

I doubt his speeches up here got much coverage in the US but I watched them. They were surprising eloquent , moving and even funny - especially his comment on the 5 finger wave.

Lockjaw 12-04-2004 12:10 AM

If you arrest him make sure you take the rest of the Democratic and Republican parties with him. Give us a nice chance to rebuild from the ground up.

fulltiltgonzo 12-04-2004 04:20 AM

I don't think arresting the puppet president would make a bit of difference in the way the country was run because Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Papa George are really pulling his strings anyways...

Oh, he'd be missed for a while; but only by late night talk show hosts and comedians lacking for material.

Dick would probably LOVE this, He would say "keep the fucker" and take over for himself. Every time i hear of an assassination attempt of Bush that was foiled i breathe a sigh of relief. Because, after all, it could be worse, and the VP could be the P.

I wonder how our "Shadow Government" is doing...

doncalypso 12-04-2004 05:40 AM

This is definitely a fake.... but a well-done fake though. I could've been fooled.

Don't forget to add to that list the whining leftist libiral spinless dems who can dish it out but can't take it. "It" being comments, suggestions and let's not leave off criticism... definitely something they can't handle.

The fake CNN report was expertly done... very well written and photo shopped nicely.

From what I've watched on the news and read in a couple of op-eds the president did a pretty good job of patching things up with the prime minister... and I got a sense of friendship and comradery from both of them.
I think good things are on the horizon for both our countries.

ObieX 12-04-2004 07:35 AM

lol I don't think that's a photoshoped picture. Thats probably when he fell on his face (its happened a few times now so narrowing it down to a specific event could be tough)

MSD 12-04-2004 04:00 PM

It looks a lot more convincing if you do the url like this:

http://www.cnn.com@world-cnn.com/200...est/index.html

(The Full URL is http://www.cnn.com@world-cnn.com/2004/WORLD/americas/11/30/bush.arrest/index.html
