Quotation of the Day - 1 December 2004

Sometimes, forgetting is a good thing, sometimes it is not. In the context of the quotation however, there are about a million things I would dearly love to forget.
Still, the profundity comes not in the words, but in the arrangement, and the fact that his introduction speaks of scores speaks volumes. The old "eye for an eye" is plain bad thinking, except in Ghandi's context where he says "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind." Settling scores does exactly the opposite, it is when we accept our fates and move on without vegence that we succeed towards humanity. I know this makes me sound like some kind of a monk, and I'm not, I'm just a guy. But think of how much peace we could have if no one retaliated. Thoughts? Peace, Pierre |
I agree wholeheartedly.
"Forgive and forget" is an often overlooked virtue. Mr Mephisto |
