okay ... i had to wait to get my avatar..ya know..reach the fabled 250 posts...but lately..since i got mine..i've been noticing people with like 13 or 20 posts with avatars! its bothersome..and annoying...like i adore thsi forum and one of the great things about it is that the rules are the same for everyone..so why are they bent for some people and not others? sorry just needed to rant a bit...

I've never noticed such a thing. But then again...I'm a little slow.

go into like the humor forum and others and stuff..just scan..alot of "rookies" have avatars..when you view their profile it says they have between 10-30 posts...some people who are "tilted" have as well its driving me crazy..and inspiring frustration...

i would put like the names of people who have like 14 posts and avatars..but that would be messed up of me...just look around on your own..its not hard to find

Last time I checked, Nonsense and Titty board posts don't count.

I do believe they can be granted by moderators. Perhaps they previously had an account with enough posts. Doesn't bother me.

Kiwi...check for the word "Donor" under their avatar.

*shakes head* some have donor..some dont..the donors its whatever..but a friend that joined a month ago now has avatar rights...its that some people have like a few posts and somehow get avatars...without donating. i dunno..its just bugged me a bit :/

Well what do you propose? The members with less posts get their avatars stripped away because you "worked" for your's?

Last I checked, avatars and access to certain parts of the board were awarded at the discretion of the moderators and not by post count......

No one is given intentional preferential treatment when it comes to avatars. It is a strict limit, as laid out in the rules. Chances are, the people made over 250 posts in areas that are no longer counted towards the post count. Thus, their profiles have a much lower number than the actual number of posts they made. The rules changed as far as posts counting in some forums, and they happened to be around before they did in that regard.

Another possibility is that when we upgraded software versions there was a time in which everyone was able to use avatars. For some reason, theirs may not have been removed when the setting was put back to 250 posts.

Thanks for giving input, but please PM one of the mods or admins first when you have a concern rather than making a public thread. This helps to prevent misunderstandings from snowballing.
