Have you went to any haunted houses recently ?
ah well,
My friends persuaded me to go along with them to the 'haunted house' last night with them. [After deliberating of sitting @ home and plunking down $15 with them, I went] So, I ended up going; and I was pretty disappointed in it. The 'haunted schoolhouse and laboratory' [its in akron, ohio, btw] and the first couple floors were horrible, not even scared at all, even laughed at the guys who jumped out or did Michael Jackson grab in front of them, with the vocals. Even a few of the masked men were trying to 'scare' an attractive female friend by staring closely right at her face - Obvious they were trying to use their job to see the eye candy better [slightly chuckles, but annoyed]. The last floor was mildly entertaining, they had a room similar to the twilight zone. Overall - two buildings, seven floors, $ 15, in about 90 minutes for a pretty lame experience... The scariest part of the whole thing was that so many people got ripped off.... Well, my friends thought it was mediocre, but they were still entertained.... So, does anyone else have any haunted house experiences/recommendations to tell ? |
Well, at my local mall, there was a hospital. It's been "condemned" since the eighties. Well, the mall officials made it into a "haunted house". They'd been having the "haunted house" since the eighties, but they've stopped doing it these past few years. So, I would've gone to that one, but they don't do it anymore.

I live in a part of the city that has seen much better times. About two miles down the street is what used to be a state run hospital that was then taken over by a not for profit hospital that turned it over to a private rehab clinic who then abandoned it.
It is a four story brick and stone building from the twenties, and huge oak trees around it. It has a brick and iron fence around it and a chain across where the gate used to be. The lawn is now small sapling trees and all of the windows and doors have been busted out. I have been trying for several years to get one of the non profits to host a haunted house there, but they are afraid of the neighborhood. Too bad. |
I'll be going to this one later today :)
will we be scared? maybe maybe not... doubtful. C'mon how do you REALLY expect to be scared when you have "prompted it"? I'm sure that more than anything we'll be startled here and there. http://www.hauntedhousenyc.com/images/eye_05.jpg Quote:

I went to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios.

Last time was when I volunteered to "perform" in one, about 20 years ago. The best part was learning from the pros how to do makeup effects like open wounds and such, a skill that has come in quite handy now that I have a 10 year old boy who wants to wow all his friends on Halloween. :D
