We are starting an auction to help out the TFP. You will be bidding on a one of a kind, hand crafted by some guy who calls himself fhq, wooden gnome door.

Many of you saw my door in the Artwork thread, and many of you expressed an intrest in buying it. Now's your chance! Plus, you can do something good for TFP! Just to recap, you'll have a door, and an "I did something good for TFP" feeling. What a bargain!!

Here's what you're bidding on: It's a wooden door. It's about 9 inches tall, 6.5 inches wide, and 1.75 inches thick. The door does not actually open. It is for decoration only. Well, not only for decoration...I'm sure you could ladle out some soup with it if you really felt the need. Keep in mind, ladling soup is NOT recommended.

Here's how it works: PM me with your bid, in U.S. dollars. Bids of yen, ruples, chickens and those funny shaped Canadian coins will NOT be accepted. Everyone gets ONE BID ONLY, so bid seriously. If you are the winning bidder, you send the money to Hal, and once he gets the money, I'll ship the door to you for free. (as long as you live somewhere I can ship to cheap...as in the continental US).

On Friday, November 5th, at midnight EDT, the bidding will end. The winning bidder will be announced, and throngs of people will cheer. The people who didn't win, understandably, will probably throw themselves off something tall in a fit of rage. Oh, and if there is more than one person with matching bids, first come, first served.

As if you weren't excited enough, here's some pictures of the door's older cousin IN ACTION!!!

These pictures were taken of an earlier model, in front of my house, in its natural habitat.

Notice the lack of soup. I can't stress the need to keep these things soup-free, people.

It is already stamped with my real name. (This one is actually stamped twice, in a circle pattern, because my dumb ass forgot to notice that the stamp was upside down when I did it the first time)

trolls are very popular there, they put doors on rocks as that's where they live.
