He's not popular because he's good at golf, He's popular because he's really young and he's one of the first great black golfers. I'd bet a good % of his fans have never even watched him play.

I like to watch him play.. well not recently because he's been in a slump, but generally speaking, he's a good golfer. My only gripe about Tiger is the Media coverage. He had more media covering his wedding than the last PGA tour winner did for winning the tour. I remember seeing a while ago, his 8-9th(ish) place finish was pictured on the front sports page and the winner had a little blurb somewhere in the article.

I do believe that tiger woods is more popular than the game he plays.
