how far is too far
ok, so i'm watching a bit of tv...no biggie, right...i see a lot of spoofy commercials for things like 'i have some great news, I just saved a ton of money on my car insurance" etc....
so, when i come to the flat screen tv that shines whatever color on the wall as what you are watching, so if you're watching a yellowish "cowboy riding off into the sunset' sunset, the tv projects the yellowish glow on the wall....seriously. So, i watched and thought, "Ok, what are they advertising" about half way through bc i just knew it wasn't a real commercial, but a spoof...then BAM...the panasonic flatscreen tv wtih some revolutionary technology.... So i have to ask, how far is too far?? |
... I have no clue.
|
so umm is it real? cuz if it is..that's really cool. .. sorry to not answer question but I'm sure as to what you're asking. If you mean how far is too far with TV's and such..well there isn't a right answer. Some people love tv and would love to have this technology. I wouldn't mind having it but I don't watch much tv so it'd be pointless.
If you're asking about how far is too far regarding spoof commercials...I think that border was crossed a long time ago |
There is no "too far" when it comes to television, but I think they'll have to stop once they're able to transmit the shows directly to your brain's optic and audio centers with 100% clarity.
|
yes, it's real.
and i just mean how far is too far in regards to spoof commercials and in terms of things that should be spoofs, like a tv that projects colors based on what you are watching. they call it an immersive experience.... |
so what's the point of the TV shining colors on the wall? I'd probably just find it distracting and turn the function off.
|
I don't get the mood lighting ability myself as my large screen tosses out enough ambient light to "color" my world like the M&M commercial.
Seriously I'd rather see some of the LED technology come down in price so that one could make a video wall like the NASDAQ wall or any of the other Jumbotrons in Times Square. Then we'd be able to see cool wall to wall TV just like in Total Recall! |

I'm against this technology 'cause it's distracting to me. Seriously, I get distracted by the slightest shit. If some little piece of paper is flapping in the breeze while I'm watching tv, I'm not happy til it's weighted down with something. (Stupid, I know.) I'd like to get rid of all commercials, too. |

How many TVs does the average house have? And if you buy a $20,000 TV, would you still wanna watch any of the others? |

To far is just to the right of Death.

So, you're not AGAINST it, you just aren't interested in it? Not to be trite, I'm jsut curious. Some people are vehemently against things they don't personally like, others just don't want them for themselves. Personally, i think it's a neat idea. I wouldn't buy one, but I think the concept could be useful in a lot of situations. |
Eh...
I'm STILL waiting for smellovision. There's smelloaudio. Aroma therapy synchronized with music and sounds. |
