I got 3 new shirts... Yay or Nay?

Hey, someone just got these 3 shirts for me, I'm kinda in the middle of whether they are cool or not. They're all silk which is nice and comfy, so that is cool  Take a look at the pics and tell me what y'all think. Thanks! I'm 18 if that helps with deciding whether they are cool!

Well... I'm a Nay. I'm not a fan of those sorts of shirts.

But what do I know, I'm a 26 year old woman, I may be way out of touch

As long as you like them, thats all that matters.

Cynthetiq 08-24-2004 09:22 AM

eh...

too expensive to maintain and keep. each time you wear them they should be dry cleaned. I'm not a dryel person so it's off to the cleaners...

prints are okay.. but not for me.

quadro2000 08-24-2004 09:24 AM

Instead of photographing the shirts on hangers, take a picture of yourself wearing each one. I can't give you a "yay" or "nay" until I see them on you. Plenty of shirts look great on other people but ugly on me.

great point! if it doesn't hang well on you...then it won't look good even if people do like the print.

lurkette 08-24-2004 09:47 AM

I don't mind #1 and #3 but for some reason the pattern on #2 bothers me.

billege 08-24-2004 09:54 AM

I would third the request for pictures on you. Some people can completely pull off a look, others need the look pulled off them and replaced. As for the fact they're silk, well, that was a fad when I was a sophmore in HS, early 90's, have they come back?
It's like those pleated skirts I see everywhere. I somehow doubt half the kiddies wearing them have any idea those were the bomb in the 80's.

Chupes 08-24-2004 10:56 AM

I'm no photographer and was all alone so here are some pics of me standing in front of a tiny ass mirror.

And for good measure, the adorable Sofia. :D

Nancy 08-24-2004 11:14 AM

I sort of like them!

Just make sure that you wear them along with black pants - you'd look classy that way I'm sure :D

Cynthetiq 08-24-2004 11:14 AM

well you are wearing them now.. but your pose is with your arms up in the air.. that makes it hard to see how the material hangs... it looks short to me because your arms are pulling the material upwards...

but it's better than before... I'm still saying Nay.

Nancy 08-24-2004 11:15 AM

wait! Can I have Sofia? :D

lurkette 08-24-2004 11:19 AM

Awww....who's gonna look at you with that cute cat around ;)

Actually, when I see them on, I like 3 best, 2 next, and 1 not at all! Could just be the lighting, but I think the lighter ones look better.

StiNg 08-24-2004 11:45 AM

1 looks the worst on imho
2 and 3 are fine

Chupes 08-24-2004 12:09 PM

Ya, the lighting is pretty bad now that I look at them uploaded. lol

Destrox 08-24-2004 12:59 PM

Not my style, so my opinion will only be jaded.

21 years of age, and in college. Just doesnt seem to fit, at least for my region and way others dress.

At best those would be club shirts.

nothingx 08-24-2004 03:39 PM

Eh.... I don't like any of them. Mostly because they remind me of a rather annoying guy I used to know. Sorry.

08-24-2004 03:48 PM

exhange them for some solids or stripes. nay.

k1ng 08-24-2004 04:10 PM

i'm not really a fan of silk shirts, nor am I a fan of those particular prints/designs on the shirts. I wouldn't wear them, so i'm going to go with a 'nay'.

sixate 08-24-2004 05:04 PM

All that matters is that you like them. Everyone has their own style and taste in clothes. I don't even own a short sleeve button up shirt of any kind so my opinion shouldn't matter to you because we have totally different style.

absorbentishe 08-24-2004 07:40 PM

Not my style, too busy. But foresure, I really don't like #1. If I had to wear one, #2 would be it then #3. The most important thing is, do you like them? If you do, then who cares. Find your style and stick with it!

basmoq 08-24-2004 09:24 PM

I personally love em, but it's ultimately up to you dude, ask a gay guy, he'll be able to help you for sure :)

rainheart 08-24-2004 09:44 PM

You gotta wear them unbuttoned, let the material hang a bit but not be baggy, wear them with matching clothes and look cool in them, pose in them and style with em; basically, clothes look about as cool as you can wear them.

I don't know, that's just what I think; I could be wrong tho'

Arroe 08-24-2004 09:55 PM

yeah, i say wear them unbuttoned with classy pants, a white undershirt underneath (t shirt, just plain), and a black belt with a silver buckle. Maybe half button up the shirt and tuck the front of it in so you see the buckle. That's a look of today.

Rlyss 08-24-2004 10:13 PM

I think I'm the onle one who likes the first one! I'm not a huge fan of the other two, but I would hold onto them. Like the others have said, if you get the classy pants and shoes happening, nice belt with a shiny buckle, I think you can pull them off and look like a million bucks.

Mephisto2 08-24-2004 11:14 PM

I like 'em all. And I buy a lot of shirts.

But you can't go wrong with vertical strips either...

Mr Mephisto

Nefir 08-25-2004 04:47 AM

I like them. Heck, I'd wear them myself!

Yay.

ShaniFaye 08-25-2004 04:59 AM

All three are too busy for my taste, they make me kinda dizzy looking at them lol

rukkyg 08-25-2004 05:27 AM

They probably make people think you're gay when you wear them, but as long as YOU don't feel gay, it should be ok.

Yeah, they remind me of just about every annoying person I know for some reason. Like everyone else said in this thread, it's up to you what to wear...if you like them, go for it. I certainly don't let other people decide what I wear!

Sargeman 08-25-2004 07:58 AM

They all look good.

I would probably wear them with dark colored pants or even a dark gray pair of slacks.

stonegrody 08-25-2004 08:07 AM

Not bad. Pretty nice shirts. Maybe good for going out to dinner with the grandparents. Anyone remember "Parker Lewis Can't lose"? Just wondering :D

ForwardtoDeath 08-25-2004 08:18 AM

Theyre not really my style, but if theyre comfortable, then why not wear 'em?

Fat_Boy 08-25-2004 02:38 PM

1 and 3 = Yay
2 = Nay

No reason, just didn't like the pattern.

World's King 08-25-2004 03:43 PM

They look good on ya.

I hope she's 18 or over...

Chupes 08-25-2004 07:00 PM

Lol, Diesel, don't get the FBI on my ass!
I decided to ditch 1 and 2, and picked up a solid black one and a vert stripe one along with some Ralph Lauren tees.

It's not the FBI you should look out for, it's Halx. :)

la petite moi 08-27-2004 12:09 AM

Woops. I posted something in the wrong forum.

Great_White 08-27-2004 12:27 AM

Good choice swapping them. I really like solid button ups. But I hate black, i try to stay away from it with my nicer shirts. For my nice shirts theyre all solid long sleeves. Ash Grey, Light Blue, Faded Tan, and a Pink one for good measure. God i love my pink shirt.

Beefimator 08-28-2004 08:56 AM

You should probably leave them on the hanger. In the back of the closet. With that said, Nay dude...Nay.
