Oh yeah. The 40s are the decade where, if you've been trying to Figure It All Out, you finally get there. I am 48, and over the last few years I've had a lot of answers to my long-time issues ("Why do I always do this? Why does that always happen when I...") just pop into my head. Bam. Like there's been some kind of background processing going on for 20 years and it finally started coming up with life answers. Which has also meant that I've made some course corrections in my life that I wouldn't have been ready to do in my 20s or 30s.

Some people talk about your 40s as the time of a midlife crisis. But what that actually means is that it's when a lot of people stop following the path that's been chosen for them, and instead start choosing their own.

And, oh yeah, more aches and pains, a little less energy, you want to go to bed earlier, and it becomes even easier to pork out if you don't watch it. But hey, small prices to pay.

OK...so now I'm depressed.
Could it be that I'm the oldest one here?
58 but feeling MUCH younger, thanks.

Most of my graduating class still lives in the little town I grew up and went to high school in and they have not done shit. Why would I want to go hang out with a bunch of dipshits. Sounds like a big ol' waste of time to me. I'm 27 by the way.
You might actually enjoy it. Don't go in with high expectations. I'm 4 years away from 20 years out of school, but actually had a pretty good time at 10 year reunion (though most of the people there I haven't seen since)

Doing the big 25 thing pretty well here.

Gonna be hittin the next bracket here in about 2 months or so.

Wow. It's just cruising by... Oh well, got more than 50 more ahead of me, I can afford to waste a few now and then!!

My wife said I could invite all of you to my 16th Annual 21st Birthday Party.

(T-Minus 9 days and counting)

Ah, who am I kidding? 57% of TFP's demographic is 18-25. Fo' shizzle. Please kill me.

I am 30something.

I'm closer to 35 than I am to 30 or 40.

Irishsean 10-11-2004 06:41 PM

Old enough to sleep alone, dumb enough to do it...
