Hum. I'd say ireland is a part of Europe though I've never been there. Why shouldn't it be?

Magpie0001 04-20-2003 02:43 AM

Csflim, Im from Ireland too! & sure it is Europe! Why not?

John Henry 04-20-2003 03:14 AM

Ireland's more a part of Europe than Britain is. You've got the Euro now, haven't you? I'm European: Half-Polish, quarter Scots, quarter English, but born in England, so really just English, I'm afraid.

Dragonlich 04-20-2003 04:10 AM

Dutch all the way, baby. :)

Oh, and I never quite figured out why I'd be called "Dutch" when I'm from the Netherlands... Why am I not "Nether", "Netherman" or "Netherish" or something? :)

(According to a website: It is widely believed that "Dutch" is the Anglicization of "Deutsch," which refers to the Germanic roots of the country's first settlers. --- But we're not Germans. Trust me.)

Loki 04-20-2003 04:58 AM

Im Australian... does that count? =)

plus i have 100% aryan ancestry.

Jack Ruby 04-20-2003 05:03 AM

Belgium. Now if only weed were fully legalised, we'd be just as cool as the Netherlands =)

Ciall 04-20-2003 05:21 AM

Yep, I'm European - and I like it.

Mad_Gecko 04-20-2003 05:55 AM

English, so confused if that makes me a Euro or not? King Tony will help me decide (hehe).

Though was educated in America, so most of my values go against the grain here in blighty.

genka 04-20-2003 06:10 AM

I'm technically russian, but I've lived in America scince I was 10. Does that count for anything?

Jack Ruby 04-20-2003 06:13 AM

I think Russia is considered to be a European country sometimes, though like 80 percent of it is in Asia.

phaulb 04-20-2003 06:25 AM

yes
from scotland myself:D :D :D

Well russia's europe alright, but I've lived in New Jersey for a while, thats what I'm wondering 'bout

crazycousinjim 04-20-2003 09:19 AM

American lost in Denmark. So I guess I am half European.

Bibble 04-20-2003 10:03 AM

I'm British, Born and bred in England but the ancestors are a fair mix of Scots, Welsh and English.

The 2 Islands (Britain and Ireland) are the least European tradionally (due to our celtic heritage surviving longer) but these days Ireland is a major member of Europe whereas Britain is more related to the USA (hence recent political situations...)

I don't think of myself as European, If the UK had to make a choice between USA or Europe, I'd pick USA.

CSflim 04-21-2003 04:53 AM

I certainly don't consider myself European. Although the irish certianly have very strong economic and political connections with Europe, through the E.U. I still don't think that culturally we are European. Not that theres anyhting wrong with that, its just that I consider myself Irish, and seperate from Europe.

double 04-21-2003 09:32 AM

Im from Finland ... and a european in body and mind ;)

Pacifier 04-21-2003 09:57 AM

I'm from germany and I'm european

Daval 04-21-2003 10:06 AM

I was born and raised in Canada, and I live in Canada now, but I did live in Estonia for 7 1/2 years. My heritage is from there.

homerhop 04-21-2003 03:24 PM

Im Irish ,dont think of myself as being European. I think Europe has to much say in what happens in our country and alot of the decisions the make are more in the interest of the bigger members such as france of germany.
I have to much pride in my national identity, and i think once we start thinking of ourselves as only europeans we have had it

splck 07-20-2003 05:45 PM

Born in Canada with 100% Dutch blood baby.

feetfirst 07-20-2003 10:34 PM

European here from England

Great Scott 07-21-2003 02:37 AM

American lost in Finland. Having a real identity crisis....

castex 07-21-2003 03:41 AM

Hello! British, living in France.

manalone 07-21-2003 03:59 AM

seems to be a fair few Irish people in this thread.

I'll add meself.

Incidentally, whatever your opinion on Europe as the EU, the geographical continent of the British Isles is Europe.

Snoogans 07-21-2003 07:12 AM

Sveedish

RelaX 07-21-2003 09:55 AM

100% dutch... Although I'm not sure if I feel 'European'.
Europe should have it's own language... right now Europe is just a bunch of completely different nations trying to get as much out of this 'Europe' thing as possible...
We should all just learn to speak English and slowly but surely invade America and take over their country and resources. Infiltrate their government and websites and.... what? what did you say? Secret master plan, what? Hush, we're already....? Oops... sorry... forget I said anything. This thread is now classified. ;)

Diceman 07-21-2003 10:53 AM

European from the UK.

I only wish the xenophobic british public would grow up.

Nyenrodian 07-21-2003 11:36 AM

100% Dutch, now living in Switzerland and might move to France or Italy in a few years time.

So yes, I am European and I feel European.
