My thinking is as follows:

If the rain god doesn't make it rain, then women come out and plow naked to please him. So why would the rain god want to make it rain if he gets naked chicks to dance for him if he doesn't? I'm confused.

If it makes them feel better and gives them some hope, I'm not going to complain. I know droughts suck around here, and in a place that relies a lot more on farming, this must really suck. I just wish there was some way to donate Connecticut's weather to Nepal.

the idea of naked women in the fields to increase crop yield and sometimes the fertility of the village has been around for ever and appears in europe, the americas and asia, that I know of for certain, and I would bet that it was a tradition in africa and australia, though I have no examples
