Dare I say my vacation could have went better?
Well, as some of you may know because I've mentioned it a few times in various threads, I just went on a vacation with seven of my friends to Daytona Beach, Florida for five days.
And I'm back, twas a good time, full of sandy frolicking and face skinnings. You see the first day I was there I was bodyboarding and a wave totally mauled me. Made my board nosedive then slammed me onto my face. It then proceeded to drag me across the ocean floor for a couple of seconds before flipping my entire body over my head, bending my neck at a very awkward angle. You must understand this could only happen to me. Well I walked back to the hotel with blood running down my face and everyone staring at me. No help was offered, nor were any "Are you OK?"s posed. Everyone pretty much seemed content to stare at my desheveled, bleeding head as I strolled amongst them. I stepped onto the elevator alongside another tenant of my hotel. He was standing adjacent to the side of my face that had went unscathed. He saw me standing there, dripping wet, with a body board and asked me a normally harmless question. .... .... .... "So how the waves treating ya?" Yeah. So I turned my face to him so he could see it in its rather extraordinarily gory entirety and said, "Not too well," before immediately exiting the elevator, which had just conveniently stopped at my floor. Then I spent the next couple of days with a sizable portion of my face covered with a rather gargantuan bandage. Other than that, my trip was peachy. In all seriousness, it actually didn't damper things that badly, it scabbed over after two days and all was pretty much well.

Your story is going to live on as the surfer ghost who was killed "100 years ago to this very day" and chose to spare a greusome death of one lucky hotel tenant, breathing out the ghastly reply, "Not too well."

Ah, crow_daw, I told ya I wasn't gonna read this thread...but I lied and gave in. I saw your marks yesterday...they're not so bad now, but I can just imagine what it was like when it first happened.

I'm just thinking of it in terms of a horror movie. You turn to him, half your face is missing, the rest is just fine. "Not too well. Brains! Brains!!!" (edit) Damn, looks like we're all thinking like that. |

Yeah after it first happened I didn't think anything of it.
Then I started thinking about in terms of a scene from a movie myself, and that was when I appreciated it. I didn't really look at it too much like a horror movie, though. I saw it as more humorous. That was after the pain subsided.
