Help with skating shoes
Yestderday, my little brother(10) bought a pair of Etnies at the mall. Now, I've never worn skate shoes; I go for Adidas or Reebox when I buy my sneakers. I was at home, since I'm home from college to the summer, and he comes in and asks me how to tie his shoes. I thought it was strange, but I showed him like I know how. He told me he wanted it like the skaters wear them, how he saw them in the store all lose and everything, where you can't see the ties or anything. Can anyone help me help my little brother out? I'm so stumped about this lol.

Tie them like normal, except looser and tying the bow under the tongue of the shoe.

I find most people dont tie them at all, you jus pull the laces tight and tuck them into the shoe, then put em on like slip-on types
|
I see a lot of skaters, including some of my friend, makes the strings really loose, then at the last hole near the neck of the shoe, they tie a knot.

If this is what your looking for here's an example.... i just got my laces how tight i wanted it then pulled a little bit more and knotted them, then tucked it down inside my shoe, now either wrap up the left over lace or cut it off, if you tie the knot right it'll never come loose, mine haven't and as you can tell by the look of my shoes, i've had 'em for a long time =P

Wow.
Tell him that he shouldn't be trying to be everyone else. |
Run an elastic strip through the holes then tie the ends off and tuck the knot(s) away.
Now you have a semi-tight shoe that you can slip on and off easily. |
Make the laces the perfect tightness for your foot, then string it through the last hole, cut it, and burn the edge so it doesnt fray. Thats how I do it.
